The main rain bands appear to be passing to the south of the resorts & at this point that's something of a blessing.
At least ice_man can quit whinging for a while, looks like gippsland getting some rain

The large Band to the NW of melbourne is moving very slowly. Good accumulations around Castlemaine/Bendigo

Cloud was certainly building on the main range late in the afternoon. Looked to be about to close in for the night.
Snow condition is OK but a top up is needed.
The Perisher weather stations are still awfully warm for this time of night. Only negative is -1.4 at the top of the quad, the rest above 0c and warmest is smigs at 2.8c.
Probably working out well at the moment. Not much precipitation in NSW and it's a bit to warm. More precip in VIC and it's probably just cold enough for snow up high.Tend to agree with Snow Blowey - rain, but luckily not too much and definitely downward trend with temps.

I was getting pelted with Sago at about 10am on the Nordic Trails. Ouch!!!
The clouds blew in just after 11am, but nothing was in them.
Fingers crossed the temps drop, it's hell windy but not very cold.
Heavy rain & hail here in Launceston . 8 degs @ 2pm. The weather has turned colder n/w with heavy snow now falling on Benlomond.. It on the way to you guys.

I'd agree with that....after the doom and gloom predicted early last week, I am extremely relieved.
Temps -1.0 and dropping at Hotham with moisture bands on the way.
sleet . sago, wind at Buller right now. At least there's something building up on the window sill rather than just rain hitting the window pane.
It's been snowing at hotham for the last few hours and there are a few cms on the ground, probably only 3-5cm.

Hotham AWS max -0.7 at 6PM, min -2.5C at 12:30AM, current -1.8C

Consistent periods of precip over a period, but only just under - temps at BOM AWS for much of it

plenty of white stuff on the ground here at Buller. Hard to say how much exactly - still very wind blown, but looking at tyre tracks on the road I'd say maybe 15cm will be reported ( could be more up higher though )
Will be heavy. Good to start filling in the holes.
The snow report says 20cm at hotham, and it seems that there is about 10-20cm outside my lodge. Its still snowing heavily right now.
Bummer at LM. Temp hovered around 0.5 to 1 all night - and if r**ned - no snow

Back on Topic: Looking real cool over Adealide and a big cloud band in the bight thatl ooks to be heading the right way. Things are looking up for the week and the snow is much needed.Similar threads
