Hah! Thought I'd beat all you easties to the first (pre-) observation on this system. The leading front passed through (or brushed under) Perth this afternoon, bringing lots of wind and a grand total of 1.5mm in my gauge. Hasn't been particularly cold but the southerly is due tomorrow with a good fetch, so things should cool down. I know we're a long way upwind but most of the major snow-bearing systems in recent years (including anything with a name ending in "-geddon") have dumped pretty hard on the SW on their way through. Nothing much to see from this one so far but at least it's a winter cold front and things might get more interesting tomorrow.
