    Looks grand this morning bro. My balls are tingling a little bit there will be at least a foot of fresh by nightfall up high at your mountain. Probably looking at 15-20 at Buller.

    TMI Verm. Looks like tomorrow might be LM's turn, although they've made carrying of chains mandatory today.

    That could be something else bro.

    I love these days with widespread steady rain, coming down nicely in Moorabbin at present.

    I observe it's still warmish at most resorts.. Is there a cold air stream? When can we expect temps to drop?

    I am mainly watching the Burnt Hut Cam which was essentially all grass and shrub last night. (except for some snow patches around the guns) It's slowly slowly whiting out.

    I observe that the bureau forecast for the next few days is very underwhelming

    http://www.bom.gov.au/nsw/forecasts/snowy.shtml

    Thursday = 10% chance of snow at 1400m? 0% chance at 1000m
    Friday = 50% chance of snow at 1400m, 10% chance at 1000m

    I find the weather stations at Perisher during the day and with chairs running are not as reliable. They often have weird anomolies. This looks OK for now but bear in mind.

    I observe very little has happened at Buller in the last hour. I suspect whatever is falling isn't quite snow. Time to put the glasses down until this afternoon I think.

    If it's just snow then im happy. The wetter, stickier the better during the day today, tonight when it cools down some more it can be a little drier. It's windy up there, drier snow wouldnt be sticking and cooling as well.

    Yeah, 5cm overnight to 6am then another 5 since then. Lines up with BOM observations.
    Having a look at Mt William, it had 35ml of rain in 12 hrs to 7:30am this morning. Hope that moisture gets to the Nth East!

    Mate check the Dinner plain cam - 1575 m If its turning white there then the lower runs are been pounded hard. Currently looks like rain so the freezing must be around 1600 to 1700 m..

    Not sure mate, maybe a couple of cms.

    A friend just MMS'd me a snowy video clip, unfortunately can't embed so you'll have to click this spam link: ( [IMG] ) http://aussieskier.com/social - then click the 'Viddy' Icon to play.
    For some reason it has rotated 90deg but you get the picture.

    Warm before the storm made for a sunny ride in to work this morning in Canberra, almost 15C different from yesterday! Windy though. That cold air surging up from the S is a beautiful thing to behold.

    http://www.bom.gov.au/products/IDS60901/IDS60901.95678.shtml

    Must be pretty miserable in Adelaide right now.

    Given the track that weather is on... [IMG]
