Guess-timating the current speed and trajectory of the low, it looks like the best snow will hit NSW between 5am/8am tomorrow.

Temp drop as the real moisture starts to hit in NSW. Perisher dropped 1.2c in half an hour as .8mm recorded. Wind gusts down here in jindy still around 80km an hour at a guess.

Dont worry Verm, I get ya haha.

We get North West rain bands drift over us on the Cenco with nice big fat warm droplets that dont feel "as wet" as a solid cold southerly rain.

Front Valley cam in perisher looks like they've been hit with a lot of new snow. May be partly from the wind too

keep an eye on the Front Valley cam as attached. You can see the auto ticket gates on the bottom right of the image. At the moment, the U bend at the bottom of the gate is still visable but I dont think that will last long.

The bottom of the U bend appears to be at current snow level so it should give a good guage once it starts to dissapear.

Looking wet on the Thredbo Village Cam (as below) this cam sits at about 1300m and should update overnight so will be a good indication once the colder air arrives.

Bummer. Yeah, my Lib needs some work (oil leak) but luckily we can run my mates Navara down.

On topic, looks like some decent moisture has crossed the border and is sliding from the NW towards the Alps.

Guthega should do very well from the early precip

Thought the same myself re timing. System is just kicking off 6 hours after the sun has set. Cant ask for better.

Plus the next cold burst looks like hitting around 5am which is perfect.

Another 6 hours to squeeze the moisture out of the first front at slowly dropping temps followed by a cold air injection at dawn and hopefully the best part of the system to kick off from 6am.

If I am looking at the same u-bend, I reckon it is a few feet off the snow surface. (at 12:25am). Isn't it suspended from a swing arm?

There wasn't any really. Not at Village levels anyway. Temps were really marginal so I guess we are lucky that they fell to the right side of marginal rather than the other way. I reckon Buller and Falls were sitting just between 0 and -1 through this system by the look of things so they did okay given that. See what today brings but I have always thought Sunday - Tuesday looks more likely for Victorian resorts, temps will be there.

Temps lowering now in NSW behind the initial front. Dropping about 1c in the last hour. Snow on the hills around Jindy quite heavy down to 1500m as it clears out briefly before the next front. A mate working at Guthega just texted me solid 30-40cm over that way up high.
