In NSW it's chains from Sawpit Creek to Perisher and cChains from Penderlea Hill to skitube and onto thredbo.

Should be fun and games all round today.

At least the wind has stopped - the quad might finally spin for the first time this week for more than 15 mins.

Still only 5 lifts at Perisher - so not worth rushing down to today IMO - Saturday will be chaos.

hotham calling 20cm in the last 24 hours with 45cm depth at sun run , big D . looking good for 50cm with a couple more troughs to hit the hills today :)
Low has really stopped in its tracks so that second trough line will whip around from the NW and should hit around 9-10am I'm thinking. Great result for the Nth resorts, Buller will be crying out for the SW.
Wondering if the Low stalling might cycle some of the moisture injected last night by the trough from central Queensland into the SW flow later today.

Bawbs reporting 11cm. Poor old Buller really got stiffed on this one it seems.

Falls reporting 24cm for the 24hr period. I'm thinking about 18-20 of that since night fall last night.

Somewhere surfy or snowy
Perisher reporting 35cm.

Might be 35cm for the last 24 hours. I wouldn't say - from what I can see in the dark of the road, my parked car and around the lodge - that there has been more than maybe 10-15cm more accumulated at Smiggins base elevation overnight.

Wind was definitely nothing to speak of overnight, which is both good and bad - good because the snow fell more-or-less downwards and bad because the resort has a lot of snow fences up to catch it and those places will have caught less than they will have hoped.

Should still be enough to open up a fair bit of the hill as preparation and staff training permits.

Fark all at thredbo. Lucky to be 5 cm at village level. About 20 cm total at dead horse gap. Looks sparse on the hill below 1700m.

I observe my overnight drive was a waste of family points.

Got a good park though.

Feeling like more on the way for TBO @Snow Blowey?

Did come up the Alpine Way from Kancoban? I wanted to know if you observed that it was open.
