It dropped to 10.7.
Radar looks good for Vic resorts if the temps hold
Strange- the airport is about 20km from me where the station is - Home guage is showing 14.9, car 15
nice blob headed that way.
Should see a bit out of it up higher at falls and hotham
Hi all. Long time reader, first post.
I just witnessed very small hail settle on the windscreen as I arrived home. Only for a min or two. Getting cold!
Irymple South. Vic
Hi Paris !!
10 degrees on the car gauge and raining in Albury. Feels snowy!!
I like the pool due south of Perth, it's bloody enormous. What is the consensus re; that cold pool interacting with the Indian Ocean moisture available in the upper atmosphere, amplifying the moisture available for this system Thurs-Sat?
i observe the vibe has gone cold in the predictions thread... its like someone flicked a switch! funny day in sydney today. It's a sense of 'calm before the storm' kinda feel.
Radar is really filling in and heading towards the vic mountains.
Streaming in from the NW. Tasty.
Blob on the radar heading straight for Buller.
All the majors holding negative at this stage.
I just went out side to run some errands... cloudy & nice nor-wester blowing.. (Nth Syd)
Fall's post and the latest models pooped the party somewhat. Still plenty of potential over the next couple of weeks imo. Lots of weathet about. At the very least it shouldn't be boring.
1.00 pm and all of Vic temps. seem to be holding or dropping, that can only be good. Radar looking good. Not long now.
true - and when he talks, you listen . wind picking up in Sydney NB's
9 degrees with spits of rain and windy in Canberra which makes it feel much colder, more like 4-5. Definitely feels like snowy weather just south of here which the cams at Perisher reflect......
Just had a very brief but heavy shower in Brighton, and the wind picked up. Yarrawonga radar looks tidy, and temps are playing ball.
Just popped out to get a coffee and got caught in a light shower in Cheltenham also.
Wind has picked up significantly in the past hour also, sky starting to look threatening.
Going to be an interesting arvo.
I observe ill be doing more observing than working that's for sure.
Snowing at Buller.
Radar looks good at the moment.
Definitely winter feel on the peninsula!
The light, wind, vibe.
Moist north nor'westerly's. #like Cams lighting up now, that's what we want!!
It fells like its getting much colder here at Perisher. The snow is getting firmer and there are icicles on the v8 chairs.
Ditto Falls Creek
But not Baw Baw. Still above zero, but doesn't seem to be raining. The NNW not helping there (and no moisture either)
Very unpleasant In Mt Victoria
Temp has stayed between 5 & 6C and wind has gusted between 52 - 98 kph (mostly 60 - 80) for the past 24 hours.
Occasional horizontal dampness.
Snowing at the bottom of HV at Hotham.
Snowing at Mt Stirling, Telephone Box Junction.
Who said it wasn't cold enough?!!
Bawbs always better out of the SW. In fact with some rain shadow I reckon they'd rarely get much out of the NW. Any others able to comment on this?
Blowing a dog off a chain in Jindy.
Still snowing at Buller.
Just seems to be getting colder and colder. Perfect. Can't explain it though happy to take it.
And we're still out of the NW.
Loving the pressures, sub 1000hpa at all the majors. Dropping like a stone in the SW. 993 at Cape Otway.
Snowing to bottom of Inter!
Looks to be coming down nicely, Buller Spur nice and flakey.
So basically it's the low pressure that's giving the lower than anticipated freeze level, so I've been told.
850hpa charts have progged +1C but due to the low pressure that height is more like 1300m than the 1600m we normally associate with the 850hpa charts.
Minty vibe is minty
Not CC. And one or two others.
How good do the Vic cams look now eh?
Baw Baw is in rain shadow, so I think that's the major reason it's missing out at the moment - although temps are just on zero.
Cedarwood balcony tables starting to show some fairly decent accumulation. 5cm at this stage
yup, looks #iconic.
LBS looking healthy. Just missing the great big penis of last week:
7 degrees out at Googong 3pm and blowing like a bastard.
Only got to 9 degC here in Bendigo today. These systems in Mid-winter can really surprise given the way they suppress insolation and are colder at lower altitudes than is typically the case.
I observe 50 members online. Must be snowing .
I observe its almost home time from work, I also observe the sky has darkened considerably in the last 20mins. I suspect its going to be a wet ride home.
