I observe Buller reporting 17cm in last 24hrs. Reported cover is now 7cm more than Hotham... you don't say that too often

Edit - Oops - seems the detailed reports basically were the other way around with Hotham having more cover.

Depends where, what elevation, aspect etc.

30-50cm+ seems to be a fairly legit variance plus some resorts picked up the bonus snow between Monday & Wednesday.

Perisher now claiming over 70cm has fallen in the past week....

What a "season opener" system, couldn't have asked for much better really. All resorts got at least 20-30cm of high quality snow and that will allow them all to open some lifts in time for school holidays :)

I observe fantastic reporting over the last 48 hours. Congratulations to all.

If the enthusiasm and bonhomie shown here alone could generate snow, the Australian Alps would get more snow than the island of Hokkaido.

My apologies in advance it's not 30cm of fresh but I observe how my day started (and ended) yesterday @1300m (AAWT Namadgi ACT).
5-10cm on the leeward slopes. 5cm on open faces. Snowing down to 900m at 10am yesterday, settling @1100m.

Also observing that they are planning on opening 26 lifts today including most of Blue Cow (Yep Ridge chair will be open).

That's the coldest I've ever seen it in my weather app

Yes. Sunday 29 June 2014. That morning Thredbo was reporting 60 cm in 24 hours. And had received 90 cm in 48 hours a few days before. It was great day. Outstanding for June.

    Further observation.
Bunnings Noosaville sold out of pre-packaged firewood yesterday!!
The number of Mercedes and BMWs in the car park with boots full of the stuff was comical. LOL
For the record.......I was there in my Subaru Forester to find out why our daughters Kentia Palm in her room has brown tips.
