Wind blowing like crazy here in Melbourne.

Gusts are more windy in Melbourne CBD than Mt Hotham
sure is, blarrrrdy windy.

Been visiting my folks today in Seymour. Rain came in with some rumbles and flashes around six. Rain not too heavy. Rained gently all the way back to Epping.

That force field had been working a treat for us up until last night. No rain up in the dandenongs before I went to bed. Woke to 27.3mm in the gauge. Lots of gravel and debris on the road. Bit of flooding at the local school.
Woke in the wee hours to very heavy rain, only had wind up until that point.
Part of driveway washed out, lots of debris washed down the road and the Yarra River up a bit.

Has stopped now. Radar tells the story - heavy showers moving across the metro area.
Bugger all St Kilda rd. Had a shower that lasted all of 30 seconds.
Still mild in Canberra, lots of rain overnight but not much today.
Squally hail storms here in southern Adelaide again. Periods of sunshine in between. Its a bit brisk and blowing pretty hard down by the beach this morning.

Snow and sago down to Perisher park gates and then sleet down to the river. 5c in Jindy.
Looks like they've had yet more decent falls in the Seven Creeks and King River catchments today, on top of what fell overnight. Both are experiencing solid flood events at the moment.

Absolutely howling W wind here in Sydney. Going to be a windy night. Not that cold. Feels like a classic winter cold front blowing through but one key ingredient missing - cold air!
