Heard stories about zero tolerance of experienced visitors just driving up and down like they always did ? Getting yelled at by the resort chain fitting team is a bad start to your day.
A hundred cars parked on the SFR while the access road could be negotiated by a Goggo Dart with four people on board ? What about some lateral thinking . Maybe a "tow you up" service for once a year visitors..

Have been up and down 3 times so far and no issues so far compared to last year. I suspect some of the issues may relate to resort entry being reinstated and upfront payment needed.

Heard stories that people were not paying through the easy access system so the resort revert to the human way so they get the $$$ in the door.

Maybe a shuttle bus for a small fee (I think the mountain experiences runs one?) would be best from the bottom carpark but parking capacity would be an issue for mind.

"$$$ in the door" ? The Chain Fitting Team do not charge. Or do they?

I heard something about visitors being allowed to drive up without carrying chains yesterday? Is that true?

Better that the Mountain Representative make a statement about that.
Often black and white initiatives are reversed after realizing that their foot is just about being shot to shreds.
Disabling uphill facilities for short term economies will surely be regretted.
Private initiatives made the resort bloom, they should be encouraged with long term concessions.
Once apon a time came a refusal to load any snowboarder without a leash. That one only lasted a day.
After a derail goofies were threatened with disqualification because their uphill track was displaced from that of the herd.
An excellent instructor was fired because she complained on line about the hassle of walking up to the pub.
International visitors toting a slightly different toboggan were left nonplussed.
    But now everything is changing....

Hey guys, what would it take for the road to be closed up to the mountain? Do some light snow showers do it? Looking at a Sunday trip and snow showers are in the forecast.

No, you'd need heavier falls to close the road. Do expect to fit snow chains on Sunday though.

Depends on how much snow, Sunday could be 10cm+ so possibly all vehicles.

I should describe today's (Monday's) entry process after Sunday's abandoned access due to the heavy snowfall.
Everybody fitting chains. Maybe exemption for 4WD with A/T tires.
All vehicles have access to mountain chain hire when paying for entry at the gate. $25 per day and $20 if fitting included.
Convoys both up and down working well today. (Chain fitting bays all closed except for gate area.)
But on a snowblown weekend ? Line up early would be good .

That's good. At LM today, there were still 2WDs who thought they didn't need chains after they'd been told they had to be fitted. Of course, they then got stuck. This follows a weekend of carnage.

Most vehicles were made to fit chains in the bay after the entry gate at Baw Baw yesterday Sunday September 2nd, including my family's Subaru Forester. A few 4WD with All Terrain tyres were being let through without chains fitted, maybe the drivers were known to the gate entry staff? There were patches of slush on the upper section of the road (that they should have had cleared by 9am on a weekend day but had not bothered too) but it wasn't enough to warrant compulsory chains for AWD and 4WD vehicles. The majority is suffering for the minority of nuffnuff drivers in 2WD and some incompetent drivers who don't know how to drive their AWD and 4WD vehicles. My 30 years of mountain and snow driving experience counts for nothing at Baw Baw.

Yep fitting chains was annoying at Baw Baw yesterday for 1cm of wet snow on the road, maybe they're trying to drum up business for the chain fitting service at the car park?
