Is there anywhere designated for overnight parking at Selwyn? Or is it park wherever or park nowhere?

    Have an annual pass.

Hoping to tour from there when the snow arrives, rather than from Kiandra.

    Thanks.

Cannot remember......but I think there is plenty of Parking there..Selwyn Ski Resort is a good approach into backcountry....pole lines exist behind the ski tows and navigation is easy to start out particularly if you are going out on AWT...past 4mile.....the pole lines from memory take you out to where you would descend down hill from the intentions box.....then returning this way it's a pretty gentle run down their downhill runs back to the village centre.....

I will be there tomorrow, so can try and ask. Unlikely to get answer until Monday. I have found tumut Nat park visitor office helpful. Think about calling them.

I've parked overnight at the 'quarry' which is about 100m on the RHS before the Mt Selwyn car park.

It is clear on Google earth or six maps.

    cheers

Yep. There is a sign at that car park saying overnight parking ok, but not camping.

About 100m before the main car park.

He reported that he skied into 4 mile so there must be enough , figure plenty of hazards though

Almost back to Selwyn. Skied all the way to happy Jack's and back, only walking was along the plain.

But it is trail touring only. Off trail is thought provoking.

    Perfect day today.

    Report in the BC section.
