PB Snowguns

    hi all, with the snowguns, do they only fire it if and only if it is sub zero temps ?

    also, when do they stop firing the guns for the season ?

    They fire them up when the temp and humidity are right. Snowmaking is a more exact science in Australia (and around the world I guess) than it seems.

    As for when they stop.... Just whenever the budget has dried up for it. Usually by mid to late August you won't see the guns going very often unless they're absolutely needed.

    They are down and dusted at PB for the year either last weekend or this weekend, I can't recall exactly which one it is.
    Not necessarily a budget thing PD but more determined by snow depth on their snowmaking areas. Once they have enough to get them through, they will cease. Last year they extended their budget for obvious reasons
