Looks flat is in the same class as horizon not straight. For me at least. Will never die.

This is the one that has outlived itself. Never really made any sense. Sun Peaks was never about the steeps. I think by now everyone has got the idea of who doesn't like some of the more prominent Sun Peaks personalities (which was the only point to the jokes anyway). Its well and truly got to the point where its become a negative reflection on those who keep riding this little hobby horse. You only need to tell us so many times that you don't like someone.

And what was the point of this one anyway? Just another dose of "**** off, my resort is steeper than yours" keyboard warrior pissing contest? Each resort is what it is. Better to rejoice in what we all have rather than piss on anyone who likes something different from what "I" might like.

That carpet needs to be renamed to Normo's cause with record numbers like that it is even more suited than naming a run Zali's

Beautiful clear, cold day at Perisher. No queuing, cover great, V8 and Quad ticking over at a good speed.

Not many stayed around til last lifts though.
This was how it looked at 4:55pm

    A very enjoyable day! :D:D:D

    Bluecow open tomorrow!

Question, do they run the older snowguns on roller coaster, meaning they could open ridge soon as well?

11.6 degrees currently at mid station. Seriously WTF? Is that normal to have plus 10 degree temps in winter at a ski resort? Even autumn temps are normally less than 10 degrees. I really want to go down for a day or two but don't want to ski in spring temps and wet slushy snow in winter.......I get that theres snow making on the few runs that are open but even thats got to be suffering pretty badly by lunchtime with double digits.

But lower roller coaster is pretty good. i think the question is will they run the ridge chair, so people can ski lower rollercoaster, then go back up on the chair, even if the ridge tuns themselves are closed. They have done this in the past. No chance that the actual ridge runs like excelerator will be open any time soon.

Although we call winter June 1, it isn't really winter until the solstice on June 21. So it's not even really winter yet! Anything outside of July and August is a bonus.

    yeah for sure.
last year lower rollers was the last run to close at BC.
It holds snow pretty well now cause of the lances and shade.
    Ridge gets cooked.

    Needs own chair perhaps .
    Is mentioned elsewhere here IIRC.
Long haul back up Ridge chair & Terminal to get back to it.
Don't think you can access it straight off the ridge chair. ?

I remember July school holidays some years back when only man made was open. 2010? Spent many hours looping lower roller coaster, ridge, zalis, terminal...repeat.

Used to do something very similar when Rollercoaster was in good condition, except from the top of the Terminal chair(Blue Cow Terminal) skate up to the top of the Brumby tbar and do upper and lower roller coaster, upper rollercoaster is often dead quiet and no one to really get in your way, stays in great condition most of the time or you could take cold shoulder and lower R/C

This morning was cold and clear. Excellent FV snow cover, aided by a big night of snowmaking. Great skiing surface. It did warm up during the day but there was no apparent loss of cover in the snowmaking areas. Once the sun started dipping, the temperature dropped rapidly and the surface froze between 4 and 5 pm.
No doubt, there will be a bunch of snowmaking happen overnight and tomorrow will be another great day on the hill. I won't go over to Blue Cow until I can ski there and back, but I'm delighted that it will be available to all for the weekend. Being able to spread the crowd is a big plus at this stage of the season. I don't know what will happen in the months ahead but 2015 has had an excellent start! :)

Another glorious day here at Perisher. Clear blue sky, getting warmer but the playing surface is very skiable. Very modest crowd. No queuing at all.

It's like Smiggins with snow, two fast chairs and a subway to another chair ... Oh and they have a feature park with its own Tbar, a ski school with 2 carpets and their own Tbar as well, lots of parking and best of all - lots of young people working hard to serve you. It's either the season peak or the start of much much more ...

Did a couple of hours at BC this morning. Bit shocked at how little snow there really is. It's man made and nothing else. But got a few runs down freshly groomed Zalis. And it was warmer up there than Jindy last night, so hard pack but not icy. By the time I left (10:30) the snow down low was getting sticky.
Good on Perisher for getting some runs open. But I'd be in early and out of there for a while yet.
Haven't been to mid yet so might give that a run in the morning. Afternoons are perfect for cycling.

not a bad day considering it was mostly man made, held up very well until mid arvo when the shadows moved across things, then got icy.
