And so it was done.......

2019 a great ski season and I trust you all had fun !

Cheers to everyone I skied with, speculated about how much snow had or would fall or chatted to on a lift.

A few pics from last lift this afternoon. Groomer out setting it up for staff day tomorrow!

Cheers:thumbs::skier:...,,...

Only managed two days @ Perisher 2019 in August. (20 plus days in Canada & NZ to be with family & friends, so all good).
Must call out @dawooduck for one of those days as exceptionally enjoyable just cruising across the entire resort landscape, thank you mate.
Thank you for all of the day to day pics and commentary, you are all most excellent.
Regards Bender's

I’m leaving Jindy tomorrow:(. It’s been a fantastic season and I’ve had a great time. I achieved my season objective of 100 days, with a few to spare, thanks to the season extensions. Thats a record for me by quite some way. Not sure I want to do quite as much next year, but when you get a good season, you have to make the most of it;) Thanks to everyone I’ve skiied with or shared a lift with this year. Thanks to all the Perisher staff for all the hard work during the season to give us something good to play on  Look forward to doing it all again next year;)

In the absence of skiing, I went for a bike ride this morning. I took a few pics from around the resort. The snow is certainly going fast:(

Here are a few pics

Eyre t-bar, melt holes and running water galore

Towers. Starting to look worn. The triple was turning, presumably patrol were pulling down pads etc

Bottom of front valley. The big chunks of snow give an idea how much snow accumulated around the bottom. It was the most I have ever seen, creating a big area of snow right out to the creek, which has now melted and turned into a bog.

Front valley, looking a bit sad. No sign of the staff day by the time I got there. The big pile of snow from the pipe / pond skim remains intact and unused

Managed to ski on 90 of a possible 136 days. This means I missed 46 days for various reasons including choosing not to head up the hill. Obviously could not ski in resort today which caused me to feel a significant loss because I could no longer choose to ski or not. Nevertheless it was good to have a little sleep in and then prepare our garden beds for tomato planting. Mowing the lawn was not so much fun but was good exercise. With a bit of luck, see you all on the hill in season 2020.

Summer: Berowra Waters. Winter: Jindabyne
I did the drive back to Sydney from Jindabyne today. It was good to have a few hours of "think time", reflecting on the season that was.
We were very fortunate that snow arrived to allow an early start to the season, it seemed to turn up whenever we needed it to during the season, the base was deep and cold and it held together long enough to allow the season to be extended.
The natural events alone wouldn't have produced such a sensational season without the Perisher Team working their butts off to make the most of every opportunity to increase the enjoyment factor for all.
While most of us get a bit twitchy when lifts don't open on time or stuff is on "demand", I felt that Perisher were quite determined to "over deliver" this season and I reckon they did just that. The decisions made about early open/ season extension were pretty impressive.
136 days open, 31st May to Mid-October, 4 Resort areas open for QBLW, open later than ever before, still skiing from FV to MtP on the 13th October, amazing stuff ( backed up by a pretty incredible grooming performance and a very determined ops crew keeping the mechanical stuff functioning).
The majority of the Lifties were good fun, the ticket checkers were all first rate!
On a personal level.....I had a terrific season.
No new injuries, dealt well with existing ailments, had 36 days off (and a whole lot of afternoons off), enjoyed the best of the conditions, had heaps of social interaction with fellow travellers, handed the baton to @robbo mcs (a reluctant hero but still the most worthy Dashboard Leader ).
Season 2019 will be hard to beat in the "Best Season Ever" stakes.
I'll be Happy to Share 2020 with you all!

Longtime Falls skier out of Melbourne - had my 1st day at Perisher this season and skied the Main Range for the first time - sucked in by the Epic Pass.

Long story short - 2020 Epic Pass for myself and son 2 - mister 13 plus a NSW Parks Season Pass. Can’t wait for opening weekend - what’s another couple of 100 (OK 1,000) kms between friends...

My ski buddy who describes himself as an avid snow watcher has noticed chairs on the V8 and a bunch of suspicious looking characters not far away.

Any thoughts?

(Just realised this image will keep updating so may not make sense when you read it).

Keeping Guthega open longer into September has to also receive special mention. My understanding is this was a very popular decision with Perisher staff who had been advocating for this for years.

They did it last year much to my pleasure. I scored final day for Guthega lifts and Blue Cow for the five days I was there.
