I've done it before, 100% worth it if you want to ski Interceptor/North Perisher, but today I caught the tube which left about a minute or two after I got off the Terminal Quad - so I was happy. The thing to keep in mind about the Tube is that it's a good 3 or 4 minute walk just going from the terminal to Front Valley, so hiking up to interceptor isn't too onerous when you consider you have walking to do anyway as well as potentially 5 or 6 minutes of standing too.

    I made a new P.B. today for ◆ runs - 3x down Kamikaze and 4x down Olympic.

Olympic being more difficult in my opinion today.

Gazed at the groomers doing their thing on Mt P this morning circa 8:00 a.m. Looked very nice.

Went a bit further South for the day....some nice views to be had.

Take care out there today. The weather forecast suggests there may be freak gusts of wind. ;)

Last time conditions were like this (a couple of weeks ago), I found Pretty Valley quite sheltered, though it's all green runs.

I guess there's no wind blown action happening at these temps? Looks like a work/rest day in town, but if there's wind blown to be had it would be worth an hour or two.

Interesting morning. Sheltered at smiggs and on interceptor. Blue cow pretty good too. Windy at Guthega. Freedom and Terminal on windhold. Everywhere lovely and quiet.

It’s a Tbar, wind hold should not be a thing (unless it’s Oly folks are being blown over the edge).

So it’s code for broken but we cannot say it’s closed.

I’ll put you out of your misery, and confirm there was no significant windblown. There was a lot of wind though, which increased in the afternoon. Skiing was quite good, quietest day on the hill probably since June:)

Another beautiful day despite wind. Mt P was good this morning, last lesson for the season :( we headed straight there. Hypertrail and GS Bowl was skiing well once it softened pick of the day. Wind picked up as the day went on.

Afternoon I tried Sun Valley and top half was windy to say the least. Blown sometimes practically half way down the hill. The Experienced Riders sign on T Bar gate gave me a chuckle, not sure if I qualify.

It was so quiet repeated it numerous times before going to centre valley. Big mistake it was busy and plenty of accidents which luckily I avoided, lots of straight lining. Wished I stayed at Sun Valley. Finished up on the 8 which was ok.

Day by myself tomorrow could be the last for the season, not sure where to go Mt P or Guthega. Decide in the morning.

Typically it's Front Valley + Eyre (assuming there is enough snow) and since it's past the official season closing with any luck we'll be able to park at the bottom. Though with the new Leichardt chair, if there is enough snow I'm guessing it will be open as well.

Someone could have pulled the cable off a roller, that will close it. I was following a woman on a snowbaord yesterday on the Blue Calf t-bar that was intentionally zig-zaging the whole way up, and when she unloaded she didn't even get to the unload area and unloaded right before it and to the right. The lifty at the top told her off, but I half-thought about giving her a piece of my mind about how she had gone up (which the lifty didn't see). Likewise someone hit the tripwire at the top of Olympic too when they unloaded and were told off... since they unloaded after me I have no idea how they had been riding.

The other day when the Calf Tbar was the only thing running at Guthega, it was stopped briefly while an Ops guy climbed up a pylon and started adjusting one of the pulleys. The Liftie explained that people had been people riding the Tbar and winding in and out. This had pulled the cable somewhat horizontally and dislodged a pulley along it's pin (axle?). This mis-alignment put stress on the cable and the pulley to he had to realigned with the others. I didn't know this. Hence the signs about not zig zagging on a tbar.

I actually wanted to get the phantom treatment on my skis, but it all became too hard. Rhythm wanted the skis for 3-4 days, which combined with driving back and forth to drop them in Cooma, having to use other skis in the meantime, just all became too hard for me:rolleyes: I wasn’t convinced I had enough sun exposure available to do it myself.

I agree though, late Oz season deep into October would be a good test for the product;)

Pics from this morning with @robbo mcs in the foreground. That cloud cover kept temps down most of the morning.

Snow on Mt P stayed in good shape up high as the forecasted high temps did not materialise. The wind that caused lifts to go on standby seemingly discouraged folks from staying out there. Very quiet.

Eyre skied fine first up but “marbelled” up quick. Post that there were a couple of lines off International that held up exceptionally well for a Spring day.

Could not have wanted more for the time of year........

The snow base is deep and cold. The creeks are not flowing fast. Rocks and bushes are not bursting through the playing surface, but......I've looked at the forecasts over the next 2 weeks and I'm not sure the season extension will be beneficial.
I'll play on the paddock as long as it's open. I'll ski a warm puddle of mud if that's all that's on offer.
Well done Perisher Team for a bold call. I hope it works well for all.

Happy Valley T-bar is going to need some love soon. Those freak gusts of wind today were almost blowing a lot of people into the towers. Much zig-zagging was needed to stay remotely on track.

When I dropped mine off they said they needed a minimum of 2 hours. I left them there though as I was headed back to Canberra after skiing. I guess it depends on if they are busy and the availability of the people who can do it.
