Skied from PV to BC today via links at interceptor. Upper link from top of quad to Pleasent valley is not made. Today you could only get back from BC to PV via pretty valley.

Check the snow report on Saturday morning. Then decide where to park.

There isn’t enough snow to build the links to Blue Cow from the top of Perisher Quad and back. The links from the top of Interceptor to Blue Cow and Copperhead Road back to Perisher were both open today

I dont travel on the Hume very often but dont remember much of it being 90kmh , I could be wrong like I say dont travel that particular goat track very often.
Smiggs is under rated by many people ,best learning venue on the hill with a natural progression across the hill from the Jbar land on the right to the Link on the left. On low vis days with fresh in the trees its a little hidden jem that area left of Burke t and around the Link t.

I think the 90 is a licensed limit for young Jasper, just so he doesn't kill himself till he gets on his skis.

I am hearing you Karen II . I am hoping its a positive sign that it has disappeared from the drop down menu while nervously watching that drop down menu.

I understand a bit of the dilemma for the resort up to this point but now at least they should make it known which way its going to go and if its lotto time do it early. They can always have a second draw if they under estimated it. I guess problem might be if they over subscribe then ..................... :crap: I guess.
With a trip coming up starting 1/8 with 4 weekend days involved it would be good to know sooner rather than later.

When at shop.perisher.com.au and you click the menu on the left and select Epic Australia Pass it loads this pass. Only the above text appears on the mobile site.

Edit: Pete beat me to it

Chilling here at bullocks flat having arrived to a very dark ski tube terminal.
Drive was great, food and drink purchased, just waiting to get the tube up the hill and then it’s sleep time.
    Bring on tomorrow.

also worth noting, the Link T-bar appeared to have a track built when I dropped my gear. Wouldn’t be surprised to see the 3 linking T-bars for smiggs open either tomorrow or for the weekend

Blue cow in the afternoon, roller coaster tore up my base a little but was fun and zalis and that one that goes off zallis at the top was brilliant (and very patchy too). Love that part of the mountain, really feels like you're away from stuff. Got the skitube, expected a romantic tree lined snowy aspect, don't know why I was so naïve, and got the hulking noisy underground clunker instead. But it's pretty efficient getting from blue cow back. Bus back to smiggins after that where the kids had been nonstop. One daughter did four hours straight on Burke t-bar after lunch, love that. Early bad vibes of perisher really eased when you avoid front valley. Going straight to blue cow tomorrow. Can you get from blue cow to guthega if it opens? We only went the other way last year. Tried to get picture of well groomed guthega to blue cow link but not sure if my rubbish phone cam shows it well. Snow got crisp at zallis and smiggins late but it was milkshaky on most runs, particularly the sun exposed runs at blue cow. Look at all those pics! Really getting the photo taking down.

@Noah , you can ski/board from Blue Cow to Guthega via a traverse that starts near the bottom of Early Starter Double chair. Glad your family enjoyed Smiggins - top spot! Blue Cow (especially runs alongside Brumby T bar and Pleasant Valley) was my pick of the day.

Warning: the usual early season surprises lie in wait .... and Copperhead Rd is not for beginners at the moment.

    PV:

ps power outage early this evening was widespread- all of Thredbo and Lake Crackenback were out too.

Yeah, If it wasn't for this web site I would have missed plenty of info from Perisher.
Vail should be paying Ski.com for media exposure.

Same for Bella red Ps 90 km hr so dangerous in 110 zones. I recently spoke to a very senior policeman and he agreed, should be 100 same as trucks.

I get my daughter to drive at 94 ish on the GPS or DigiHUD Pro Speedometer on a phone. This puts her about the same speed as the slower traffic and means truckies don't monster her on the Hume.

    YMMV

I agree it’s so dangerous. When you have a big truck coming behind you and (rightly or wrongly) they are doing 110, the whole car shakes.
I also like the dangerous overtakes to get around me that’s classic too

Nothing new this was mentioned in here days back. But it would be nice to get that confirmation from the resort. Maybe they don't want to encourage to many epics to turn up.

Luckily if you come from another state the NSW rules do not apply to learners.... It did take the QLD gov, several months to figure this out.

I can remember a mate a check pilot for one of the airlines saying. 'When would you rather your 17 year old son experience 100-110kmh driving with you in the car or 4 of his mates??? all suggesting we see how fast she goes?? The folks who though up the 90kmh lini clearly have no intelligence at all.

Another chilly start to the day on the south western slopes ,been very negative temp all night so that means another ..................... very firm playing surface first up and off piste might be bullet proof. Enjoy until it warms up :)

Take it easy on the roads guys, they were wet as I was arriving last night. I can’t imagine they haven’t turned to Ice

I’ll be at Guthega from 9 so if you are coming over, come and say G’day (from a poles distance of course). Got a new Parker this year, blue and green, with black helmet and black pants.

See you all out there :)
