Question for the the folk with adult children, when do you stop paying for their passes?

My recent experience suggests never. "you introduced me too it. I can't afford it, you have to pay!" "oh but you can't tell me what to do now, I'm and adult"

I think I'm doing parenting all wrong!

Problem is, they are all still linked to my account:rolleyes: So for quite a few years the conversation went along the lines of I’ll order it, and put it on my credit card, because it is all linked to my account, but you can pay me back at some stage. I think you can work out what will happen from thereLOL

You need a clearer definition of "at some stage".

Both paid their own way this year - no issue.

Half and half is also a good compromise the first year.

Ah the parental zero interest never pay loan :D (you could chalk it up to early inheritance when it's doing them and you some good ;) )

Nice out there today. Busy, but everyone super friendly and lots of smiles.
Its funny how you see new lines when you are walking and there are no tbar lines to worry about; we experienced some awesome skiing from the top of Happy through trees toward Sun Valley tbar base.
Timing is everything though, by the time we wrnt up Mt P, the snow had turned; variable sticky!
Yesterday's walk up to the top of Guthega was gold. Best skiing all year. Keeps you coming back.

Haha, I remember my grandparents always saying to my old man; we rather give you things or money while we are still here to see you enjoy it, but don’t expect there to be any left when we’re gone :)
My oldies have adopted the same philosophy and I’m definitely going down the same path as well :)

Little report from today.

Went out with @Goanna and @SalleeGirl …..As always we easily distanced. Carpark to mid then the cow and back. App measured it at 8.5 kms and circa 400 VM’s.

Sure it’s inbounds but nobody out there and with no wind nor cloud, one of the best possible Spring days. When the resort is closed, and with so much snow, it’s truly a great part of Kosciusko :) And fresh snow that skied sublime…..So fortunate to live in this part of the world and that’s never taken for granted. Yeah, sorry, I'm not sleeping well so I've given up and get up when I do.

And I was looking for a bit of sun on the surface today, reckoned it would be a whisker firm, and it was here and there.

All good, the firmer on the way up was nice. This -3 +10 weather is just what is needed for an optimal spring. A great day to be alive.

One key stand out is how the fall lines open up when not messed up by skier taverse and winter grooming.

I have paid for my own Epic pass and all my ski gear since Year 12.

My parents believe that a holiday should be earned and that if I want to ski, then I have to work for it.
It’s cheeky though cause he knows that I would do anything to get down there. Just had to be vigilant the last few years. Got another promotion at work 2IC at another store so big things ahead :)

You see, my kids have lived independently in Sydney since starting uni straight from school. Worked, studied, grabbed some scholarships, very little assistance from me. They know how to earn things and expect nothing from me. Part time jobs from 14, paid cash for cars, eldest (24) buying a unit. Travel is a love I have given them, I’m happy to support that where I can. And they are great travel and ski buddies. Plus a plane ticket, or ski pass is a much better birthday/Xmas present than undies, because I suck at thinking of normal presents, especially for my son.

You live at home. Your parents support you in many other ways.

Absolutely. I wasn’t trying to make it a competition, just answering the question……

How long does it take to hike up to olympic? and the other runs? Interested in how much labour has gone into these excellent photos?

I don't time it. To mid is easy, up to Olympic saddle from btm of Sun Valley is a bit of a zig zag burn but from there not too bad. We where there for 3.5hrs but that included quite a bit if chat and picnic.
