Nah, nothing new.@NightSky
Any updated thoughts on the above?
I figure NSW would need to reach 70% at least seven days earlier than originally forecast and Perisher would need to extend by more than seven days (unprecedented in my memory) for Sydney Siders to have any chance of riding a lift this year.
Feel free to tell me I'm dreaming.
I don't mind parking my car at Eyre.
What a fab Spring day….
One run down FV then straight over to Eyre via the usual route.
Skied Eyre with @robbo mcs and noted @Red Bill and @Normo out there as well. Those first half dozen or so runs before anyone else turned up were bliss. Make your own adventure with fresh tracks run after run. Eyre bowl, tree runs etc all skied great.
It was windy and vis with blizzards. Sweet……Eventually I left Robbo on Eyre and did loops of down Towers, up Happy, down to Sun then back to Eyre and repeat. Hardly a soul anywhere. I estimate 30 cms on Towers by the time I left.
A few grainy pics:
Me cant work out how many cm's. Can anyone hazard a guess?
Good on ya robbo Wish I could be thereGood day today, I love a blizzard Snowed pretty heavily all day, and not many people around made for good fun.
When I left at 3pm a few minor dramas in the carpark. There was around 15-20cm snow at carpark level, with slush underneath, which made it a little tricky for some. A few people looking for shovels, and the local tow truck earning some beer money pulling people out. Once you got to the road it was fine. There were ploughs running up and down the road, but the lack of traffic and heavy snow meant I drove down the hill leaving 5cm tyre tracks. Plenty of grip though
Here are a couple of pics, from a very similar vantage point to @Normo . These were around 12ish, so snowed a lot more after this
Indeed. I'm guessing at least most of the Sydney contingent of the Forum would be there if they could!I think it will be a "wait and see" day by day affair for snow suitablibilty. But considering they opened LWE with 60cm base, I am hopeful.
I personally think it would be great PR, but I also worry that 100,000 people would decend on FV. At least it the school holidays would be over.
Im hoping there is snow on the ground and lifts turning for the 15th-19 OctIndeed. I'm guessing at least most of the Sydney contingent of the Forum would be there if they could!
Monday 11th got mentioned on the news this morning again as a possibility. Something about some horse race somewhere.
