Well glad we made the effort to come.Is there any chance of enough snow for a slide through the resort mon/tues?

Haha, nice to meet you too @SMSkierSo I dropped a short video of the winds at the top of the quad in the obs thread for this event. Could barely stand and the wind was tearing the snow from spots you’d normally expect it to settle. Simply wild up top.
Brief report:
Road was super slick first up per earlier post with the road closed beyond the resort for road clearing (it reopened later on). So inbounds it was - summer wax off and skins on. Met up with @Goanna for the hike.

Managed to source enough snow to skin up to the top of the quad. Some pics roughly in order to mid:

Nearing the top. Poor vis and howling winds.

Up top. Easy to see how where the snow had been ripped away.

Getting back was a mix of boot packing and skiing. Just enough cover in spots but where there was, the snow was in good nick. But those winds had really ripped snow out from many places you’d normally expect to see it.
Back to base and had a brief chat to a nice couple who were headed out. Now realise from a post above that it was @bullet and ski partner. Nice to meet you folks.
Haha, nice to meet you too @SMSkier
Being from Shellharbour unfortunately we missed the entire season so just had to get a few turns in.
Also unfortunately in my haste ti leave yesterday arvo I forgot to pack the splitboard skins in, so boot packing it was.
Anywhere to hire a skin in jindy?
Got some, cheers.Try Bruce at a wilderness sports in town - Nuggets Crossing. Carpark opposite Kosciusko First National real estate. Tell him that Steve steered you there. He definitely has all sorts of kit there. Otherwise ESS board store.
Would that not be normal for Tbo, half of Perisher? lol18mm according to the BOM station…stake a little less. I reckon there has been some very localised snowfalls as Thredbo showing half of what PV has received.

That's right, because you have to average what the top gets and what the bottom gets.Would that not be normal for Tbo, half of Perisher? lol
Can lend you some if you still need. Pick up in East Jindi.Haha, nice to meet you too @SMSkier Being from Shellharbour unfortunately we missed the entire season so just had to get a few turns in. Not sure about a tele lens. I took that pic on my iphone. You mean right next to the Interceptor lift line? That's perspective for yaAh right.
So it's just the tele lens that makes that North Perisher lodge on the extreme left of shot look like it's right next to the lift line
They have a problem, closed early the last 2 years, didn't get the fall Perisher gets. It will be back for our Mountain Collective pass, just need 2 days there. That's right, because you have to average what the top gets and what the bottom gets.
Thanks for the kind offer. By the time I seen your post I had already sorted some. Can lend you some if you still need. Pick up in East Jindi.
Today last year.

Meantime……that chair, believed to be (off the original (pre quad) triple is almost done. Have been tracking progress (in my latest home project thread) but it’s likely a little bit of Perisher history so here it is. Slats go on tomorrow. I built it so that it spins 360 degrees……

I like the idea of it spinning 360 degrees, on its vertical axis that is.
I have watched them go very very close. Not even the Mt Perisher double can do that in high wind
Lovely and green! Not much to see today. Wet, foggy and remaining snow disappearing as you’d expect a few days out from Summer. Putting on the green Summer coat with all the creeks flowing. Plenty of parking though….

As of 9 am 317 mm so only 4 mm to go to beat 2011. The AWS began in 2010 so the PV Ski Centre has data from 1976 until 2010. None of those years more than 1994 at 292 mm. So we are looking at a probable 45 year record. Need to check other nearby sites later.Already 280 mm in the gauge this month, with a mean of 170 mm so 65% above average. Best for 10 years since 321 mm in 2011. Not too many decent days for outdoor activities though. 7 rainless days and 19 wet. It will be 20 at the 9 am rain reset tomorrow.
