Best advice is call Perisher Snow Sports and explain what you want and they will reccomend an instructor based on your needs.

^he is not joking, he does Alpine too. IMO a very good instructor in a general term (I have done my Tele levels with him) he has a great ability to figure out your learning style, and cater to it. Not something everyone is good at IMO.

    This is funny.

You think the ski school cares that much?

Well I guess it depends who answers the phone when you call.
Whenever I've called and can't get a particular instructor my kids have had before (which was originally recommended by Snow Sports Staff), I explain the kids ages, and skiing level and the person has a look and lets me know who they recommend, who is good with kids who isn't and they will also advise if a better instructor is available and at different spot (perisher, smiggs, BC etc.), they even ask if you would prefer Male or Female

Not sure why you think Perisher would be in the business of not providing good instructors to suit peoples needs?
Have you personally had a different experience than me?

I tried using the dashboard login to select a particular instructor at Smiggins but could only select Perisher Valley. No suggestion re Epic Pass discount on the web page either. However seeing I am going to Smiggs next Thu, with OG1, I shall just drop in and ask in person. However I have in mind, if he is unavailable on my dates, to just explain my situation and objective (perhaps wishful thinking) and assume they will make a decent recommendation, as per explained ^^^.

Thanks everyone for your responses, I'm sure Perisher Snow Sports does a very good job. I just thought it would be good to get some of your considered thoughts before booking. I have had some names messaged to me and all feedback has been welcome.
    Thanks again.

Must have the wrong name then. Shame, they were great. Said they were a level 4 Alpine and did telemark instructing as well. Jindy local I think. Anyone know who that might be?

There's another Alan Davis at Smiggs ski school - he's a ledge, so is Barney but wouldn't take lesson from him;)

You'll need to book ahead. He works school holidays and a few weekends.

My mogul skier, William Martin, as well. He is over beginners who cannot get into their bindings.

And would always recommend Nev Leel, though he is probably hard to get.
