    Calling all Perth forum peeps.

Have a work colleague from Perth that has never been to the snow and are going to Japan in Jan, are there any good shops for ski gear, as in clothing? They will rend all the hardware in Japan.

    All in the city
Although I think Kathmandu may have closed there now.

Also K and MP in Cottesloe.

If they’ve never been skiing before, especially in Japan emphasise layers. I took too many long sleeves the first time and boiled in hotels and apartments after the ski day. Needed to be able to get down to tee or tank level.
Face masks (I recommend buffs) are a must.
3/4 thermal pants work best for me rather than full leg because I hate having anything but the sock in my boot as it gives pressure spots.

Missed the Aldi ski gear sale unfortunately. There are (or were last time I checked) a couple of places in the city that do a limited range of ski gear, but you'll pay for it. Will they have a chance to get kitted out in Japan when they go?

Maybe give us a list of sizes - @gareth_oau and I may have things hanging around that could suffice that we should’ve got rid of a while ago (4 kids now adults and all that).

Friends from Perth do most of their snow shopping on Gumtree - particularly for kids. A quick glace searching for "snow" and "within 50km" of Perth yields many pages of gear and most ads have a version of 'worn for one trip to …'. My only tip would be make sure they get snowsports gear not winter gear. For Japan powder skirts and boot gaiters really are necessary.
