There are certainly a lot of sections of roadworks at the moment

The potholes are a minor problem. Negotiating all the abandoned damaged vehicles is the greater challenge.

The ones that have fallen into the potholes, filled them up so you can drive over their roofs are helpful though

The Hume is not a problem, but Canberra -> South to Jindy is sketchy in places, but pretty well marked, although fast at nighttime wouldn't be advised.

The Hume is not a problem, but Canberra -> South to Jindy is sketchy in places, but pretty well marked, although fast at nighttime wouldn't be advised.

This ... Cooma - Jindy is pretty borked with quite a few sections of roadworks and patching. Berridale - Jindy is quite slick especially East Jindy into Jindy.

Jindy to the resorts is in good condition.

Wildlife is of a greater concern, especially if you drive during dawn, dusk or at night.

Still quite a bit of road work Cooma to Jindy.
If they're not done by opening weekend, and IMHO they won't be, then there will be a couple bottlenecks for sure.

Lost another vehicle on the stretch between Berridale and Jindabyne on the weekend. She was a good ute too. Mrs was mighty pissed off that she had to come and pick me up. Then she nearly drove into the same pothole.

Lesson is - if you've lost one vehicle to the pothole, stand a bit away from the pothole when waiting for your lift.

Just under 2 weeks before we hit the road. Fingers crossed those road crews have had a chance to get around to fill all the holes.

We’re starting our trip down in another week. We live on a peninsula, and the 12km long access road is always covered in potholes no matter how recently resurfacing/relaying work has been done. We’ve got to dodge all those potholes first before we think about dodging anything south of Canberra.
