    Wow, very pretty pictures.

However he's charging $5.41 for a one-off viewing of the 40 minute film on Vimeo. While I've demonstrated that I love Feathertop as much as anyone, I'm not sure if I will fork out for it, especially as one of the free "bonus reels" is basically a promo for Friends of the Earth, a group that is way too extreme for my politically centrist inclinations.

So has anyone seen the film? If so, is it worth the money and do they get excessively political?

Got to ski with some of the cast, and with Steve, some years ago now. @dossa5 would know a fair bit about the actual filming in Vic.

Its not the least bit political. I would say the best BC production yet made in OZ. Steve's a pro. But Im biased. Steve worked with me for a few seasons.

No....don’t put down everything .......Bears still got fallen trees on Bungelow to deal with!

Time to take up arms !Or brushcutters/chainsaws etc

Job half done is not yet done!

Regardless of film quality .....Team Bears also sit in a moderate position and don’t approve of some extremist group activities!:(

We may not even get to Feathertop this year but the “journey” is the most important bit is it not!!Looks like we are stuck on the journey for awhile longer.
Motor Mower Man just cut the Team a brand new semi chisel chain....we are not putting “everything down “ so to speak we are moving up a gear in the late season!

Perhaps less time dreaming and more time holding back the invasions on Diamintina Spur by private enterprise assisted by those lackies in NE Tourism and other groups that have succumbed to the Iconic thingee jiggee!

High Knob is about to get its wilderness credentials downgraded by the worlds worst plan!

The pristine wilderness won’t stay that way just by “dreaming”!

Great re cut. Stevo is very passionate and a good filmmaker. He spent days filming me using an msr whisperlite

Nothing more invigorating than observing a whisperlite in action....Team Bears could watch that kind of action for hours.

Well no mention of a gate keeper to keep Fido from watching the video at least!

Team Bears say Fido could get a blast from colourful shots of a whisperlite in action.

    This.

The tele-day is hijacked by FoE, as is the BC festival as well as the BC film festival.

I personally am not comfortable with our pass-time being used as a vehicle for political purposes - for that matter (despite not really being a 'fan'), I also object to the AFL/NRL being used to propagate social justice and/or political messages...

We come to the snow to get away from all that shite.

'hijacked' is a strong word for someone who got off his ass and organised something fun that wouldn't have happened unless someone got off their ass.

There wouldn't be an Alpine National Park if it weren't for groups like VNPA, TWS and Friends of the Earth. Period.

Umm, not so much hijacked as organised by.
FFS, Cam actually got off his arse and organised something, I think he’s entitled to put whatever spin on it he wants.

Rubbish, Cam Walker who organised those last two events works at FOE, it's not hijacking. It's synergy. Have you read any history about how the Alpine National Park came into existence. Really interesting, and rather than 'extremism' the story resolves around science, community, compromise and hard politics - really intense hard politics. If it weren't for dedicated community groups it would not have happened.

Did we watch the same thing? FoE are mentioned in the end credits in text for about 15 seconds.

Doing first season at Hotham a while back I found this book at a local op shop; well worth the read. Probably hard to find nowadays, happy to lend it to you if you'd like to read it.

We took off from Punkah and checked out the pitches on Feathertop to ski then hovered around the summit and dropped out of the chopper as we wernt allowed to land. The most amazing thing skiing out there wasnt so much the steeps but seeing Steve hanging out the chopper with all his gear filming. (the snow that day was bullet proof and spooky but the chopper was booked). We then flew back down the valley and landed the chopper in the paddock next door to home where a hot 'tele like a girl if u can' skier got in and flew down to feathers.
The amazing thing with Steve was the position and places which he put himself into for filming. Quite an accomplished tele skier in his own right thats for sure, and passion for wilderness.
Has anyone seen the Franklin tassie river paddle flick that Steve also did where Steve is up the front of the boat, has a camera mounted up front also and captures the very moment it capsizes with Steve catapulting face first towards the lens. Spectacular facial contorts. Steve the adventure man.

It's something you have to consider with all ski movies. Whatever the people on screen are doing, someone with a kilo or 20 of camera gear did it first.

Not so much now, but in the olden days of The Real Warren Miller it was so.

Team Bears organised something that was definately not much fun at the time!

Team Bears definately has a “vision”of sitting comfortably watching finals football but Ubi got them off their asses with “hard politics”!

The track to the Feathertop “wilderness”is now free of debri so lugging Skis, boards and heavy packs and or camera gear for movie making via the Bungelow Spur is somewhat less demanding.Lugging up heavy camera gear is now a possibility for the intrepid film crew!

Regardless of your political persuasions;) ....it’s a fun Mt..even if Team Bears never made it to the top!
Team Bears preparing an invoice for FOE!

We love the seat at Picture Point....u got to love some infrastructure!
Excellent seat for “wilderness dreaming”..lie flat on your back and go to sleep!
