Gerg says "The next biggest 7-day gain at Spencers Creek is 116.8cm to Monday, 9 May 1960. That was not from a zero start, so appears valid and is probably the 7-day record."

So 116.8 is a fair metric (or at least better than anything else) for the biggest recorded dump in a single weather event.

With last week's depth at 115 there would need to be a reading over 232 this Friday to be the biggest valid weekly gain ever recorded.

    Possible?

Considering Perisher is recording a total of 115cm, It is quite possible that this record could be broken, particularity as Spencer's is higher than perisher,
So wouldn't that make this the greatest dump ever recorded then?

EDIT: That may be the biggest dump at spencer's however Hotham showed a much bigger increase from the 84' system.

    nope.
The amount of snow to "fall" at resorts is always significantly greater than the amount of snow that settles at the SMHA snowcourse.
Charlotte Pass have recorded 70cm of snowfall and they are only 2km from the snowcourse where the measures are made

Considering the compacting by means of melt, resettlement etc. between the w/e and Thursday I doubt that it'll come close IMO.

With the warmness and a bit of rain due to hit over the next 48hrs I would imagine he compaction would be considerable
