Hi all, not sure if this has been covered before, but I'm just about to replace my 10 year old down hill boots and it got me wondering what I can do with the old ones? I feel guilty just throwing them in the hard waste and I'm not sure if one can pull them apart and put in the recycling, so I'm asking the brains trust for some ideas! Thanks.

I always drop mine by my back fence for a day, theoretically in anticipation of the next council hard rubbish collection. I can be assured someone will collect them, presumably to put them to better use, within an hour or two and always within the day.

Given size constraints on boots I never quite understand that, but it’s a certainty as night follows day that this happens.

I just drilled holes in my old boots and hung them on the mesh wall to plant stuff in.
    Pictures if anybody wants proof
