We recently stayed in Revelstoke and booked the 2 x 2 place through airbnb

    https://www.airbnb.com.au/rooms/20744254?guests=1&adults=1

It is absolutely superb, all fixtures, fittings, furnishings, mattresses, sheets etc are all as you would expect in a 5 star hotel.

It is located about 3 minutes drive to the centre of town and 3 minutes to the mountain.

If you are planning a visit to Revelstoke, then give it some consideration

ehh I stayed in the same complex.
    Different apartment
Was only just built before we arrived

But hang on, did you have any issues with parking? the garages are ridiculously small

We had to park in a outside carpark

yeah, we parked just outside the apartment, no issues, but agree, the garages are perfect for those who go on bicycle holidays

We found Revelstoke to be terrible with bad snow and no accommodation. No-one should go there. Ever. Gareth is telling porkies...

The owner basically told me to park across the street. He wasn't actually sure of the rules.
In the end we took the visitors car pass to be able to park next to the building

Honestly i thought the location wasn't that great. Would probably prefer to be near the town

I dont care for 5 star furnishings but they were pretty good i agree. Good to have your own spa on deck

What are the thoughts on staying on mountain compared with staying in the town of revelstoke?
I will be travelling solo and not likely have a car. I will be looking at accomodation at the lower end of the market!

I've been checking Revelstoke accommodation recently. Just a one night stop in August on the way to the Banff area, so looking for something cheap.

Here's a cheap place with good reviews that encourages sleeping with strangers and is only a short stumbling distance from three fine establishments. What more could you want from a holiday :D

TBH I would go for town, i'm sure you can get a ride or shuttle to the mountain

There's some apartments and restaurants at the base of the mountain, would probably be fine for a short stay but town is much better for food/entertainment

I think the only place to stay on hill is the Sutton Place hotel...very $$$$$, unless you can rent a condo type arrangement but as a solo that wouldn't work.

We stayed at the Sutton over XMas for nearly 2 weeks and it was dull, not memorable at all - we had several issues with our room so much so they gave us 2 nights of dinners at the restaurant for 3 people plus refunded a nights accommodation. I would not stay there again...

We stayed at Revelstoke Ramada which was a brand new hotel on the edge of town. $160ish per night including breakfast for two.

Nice and convenient for short stays

I stay at the Mountain View Hotel. It's cheap and has everything you need.
