Weird Austin, that was all here on this site as well.

Great news however (that I read on this site), snowmaking has made a huge difference to the Ridge's ability to open.

just got back from the snow today.
Yesterday i had a lovely ski on Rollercoaster ( best! i've even seen it) Exelerator was great to the bottom. Zali's had a bit of traffic but otherwise in good shape. A bit of fun was to be had in the trees off the right of Early Starter.
The Guthega traverse is a bit hairy on the return, so whilst Guthega itself has some doable terrain open,( and NOBODY there) the upper traverse is a long walk back for boarders.

Pretty Valley was opened by midmorning yesterday, very icy; The traverse to Blue Cow involved a hike uphill from the chair, and then a long skate right across the top ( why? have they cut such a high traverse i wonder?)

Anyway, quite impressive for this early in the season.

Guthega had a bit more than some "doable terrain" today.

Practically everything* was open and in great condition. The last bit of the Guthega-Blue Cow traverse at the bottom was the only really hairy bit as the drifts across it couldn't be seen all that well in the white out this afternoon. The part above Mother in Law could doing with a bit more building up, but apart from that not too bad.

    * Parachute and the Screw being the main closed runs.

Hmmm, didn't really go close enough to see. The top part would be okay, not so sure about the run out. If the forecast snow comes off you might be lucky this weekend, otherwise longer.

parachute always takes a while to open due to it's aspect. I'd say it's the run to the bottom of the chair that might be the issue, rather than the run itself. That is the run from the bottom of parachute AND the run from udner the double chair down to the ski centre and bottom of the chair.

There might superficially be snow on it, but that latter access takes a shyte load of snow to open and keep it open, nothing worse than having to take skis off and walk the flat bit! Pretty funny to watch all day though [IMG]

Parchute is open. The cover is good up the top but down the bottom it can be patchy and / or icey, depending upon the grooming.
