I received my confirmation email as well!
For those wishing to add season ski tube to your various military passes, email perisher guest services.
They'll ask you to send them a copy of your confirmation email with pass numbers etc. They'll then send you a link that allows to go buy ski tube season add on now, before next price rise.
So no need to wait until season starts.
And in other news Hotham and Falls now covered by Epic pass.
Just seen Military Epic Pass for 19/20 went on sale today. $129USD for active and retired military.
Has anyone with a Military Epic Pass been to Perisher yet ? Did you just take the card sent to you from vail in the USA ? Has the process been smooth ? I just have a feeling it isnt going to be
I got sent Australian Epic passes a few weeks ago, so suspect that they're all over it.
I got an email from Perisher back in April, asking me to update my account. Week later I got sent two new Mil Aus Epic passes same as skinavy. Linked skitube to it at the same time.
Used them on Sunday, no probs at the lifts.
Used on Saturday at Hotham, no probs at the lifts.
What was the verification required for dependents? It mentions a "Mauve ADF Family DCAC" in the FAQ, but I've never heard of, nor seen it.
That's the current ID card given to dependants so they can access bases. I used a redacted personal summary from pmkeys as verification.
I didn't bother - just included my ID card! By the way we don't get bring a mate discounts
I had my Oz Military Epic Pass issued by Hotham but they don't work at Perisher. So now I have an US, Perisher, and Hotham/Falls Creek Military Epic Passes.
Nice to see we have managed to spread our 'efficiency' in to other organisations!
Not sure if this has already been posted elsewhere but the 2020/2021 EPIC Military Active Pass has increased a fair bit.
The new pricing for the Military Active Pass is $169 USD - an increase of 70% on last year. The bigger issue for families is that the $1 kids pass has gone. Its now $169 USD for everyone under the Military Active Pass regardless of age - this is tucked away in the very fine print. Now i believe its still a good deal for many but a big jump if you were expecting the party to continue...
For me, i'm now reconsidering getting the EPIC pass for the family next year. We have an upcoming trip to Vail/BC in a few weeks which i'm sure will be excellent but for next year not so sure. Two weeks most Canadian interior resorts would be effectively the same price without any of the restrictions.
Interested if others have similiar thoughts - i haven't received any direct emails from Vail yet asking me to renew.
It's a 30% increase on last year (19/20 Military Epic was $129). Still steep increase, but when you consider $169USD for a season pass that is still the best deal out there if you ski more than 2 days at Perisher/Hotham/Falls. Never had the $1 pass for kids. Suspect that was only for real young. Mine were 8 and 10 when it started.
The list of resorts, admittedly most in the US, with no restrictions is reasonably long and now includes Whistler, Beaver Creek, Breck and Park City.
Yes, you're correct. It was $129 adult + $49 kids last year.
My issue is more of the total package cost - with kids you often need lessons & the price of lessons at the big Vail resorts is crazy high & negates the savings gained by the pass. At least that was our experience last year at Whitefish which was very reasonably priced. I appreciate that is the the business model but i think its worth doing the numbers if considering a 2 or 3 week family holiday at Vail, Breck etc
Anyone managed to sort out their military epic pass since Vail shut their call centre? The verification thing is a shambles this year. Can't verify without purchasing the pass. Can't buy pass without verifying.
I don't think it's going to matter much one way or another.
The Military Epic Pass runs to the same time as the US pass, so it wouldn't be valid until the 2020/21 Northern Hemisphere season and 2021 Southern Hemisphere season.
Correct. Already got this year's pass for me and the family. Only need two days to be in front.
good, there is only room enough for one AJ on the slope anyway.
Actually I take that back, I ski elsewhere, they can all go to perisher
yep, enjoy Selwyn pal.
Well who is laughing now that it isn't only going to be Selwyn closed this season
