We got the Breakfast with our accommodation , it’s not too bad, a lot of variety for east and West taste but more for east , when in Rome ......

3 places, Japanese place, Chinese place and Oktoberfest place. All serve some western and Japanese options.

The Oktoberfest place was the best but it was not cheap if I remember? Our breakfast was included in the conf package so didn’t really look at price but a mate said if we had to pay it was 3k or more!. Be careful though, the close up early ~9am and Chinese place is only one open early.

I did coffee in a can (awesome) then found something to nibble on in mountain most mornings.

Tip: if you elect not to have your room cleaned they give you a 1000 yen credit per day. They say it can’t be used for alcohol but we used ours at the bar and to buy beers at the shop so ignore that rule! Just go to counter to collect.

If ur kids are overage, recommend the captain bar beside pirateman short walk from the hotel. A little container bar. Was good fun!!

Lol I have an 11 yo and she certainly is starting to think she knows everything an adult knows!

Fortunately access control and device restriction on the wifi router quickly brings her back to reality...

Even better. The primary satellite should go and play darts at captains while the secondary satellites of the primary sleep in their rooms! :)

Yeah Mate, they are saying 15cm, but up top there was way more, over the top of your boots easy, the wind came up a bit after lunch with snow showers on and off, just came in now and it’s snowing a bit heavier, great day out there :) tomorrow should be real good if it snows like last night

My wife had her first proper powder runs through the Heavenly area back in 2016; pure bliss.

The 10 yo isn't camera shy.

    So much awesome
We have been so lucky to have 3 weeks in what has been described as the lowest snow year ever and yet we would never know.
And the boys have reached that rapid development stage where I'm just the trailing ambulance at the races

Bitter Northerly blizzard today dumping big snow
    Ok in the trees
    Upside no-one on the mountain
    Downside hypothermia
BTW I don’t hate on too many runs but if I never see that East Tignes off the top of the East gondola again it will be too soon
Narrow wind scoured steep nasty bit of terrain

    It's outdated and pokey
We were put in a room about a million miles away
    No wifi
A million school kids on school camp
I do love Japan, but they find a thousand ways to say no without actually saying it
The Tribute at Kiroro is way better but the skiing at Rusutsu was better-more varied
    The hotel has a monopoly.
    What are your choices?
Can't see anything changing unless they get competition

Plans have been afoot for a while for a whole bunch of new development. My guess is with the Shink to arrive in Kutchan 2030 it’ll be pushing forward in the next year or so. Know a fellow with a large parcel over there, I’ll see if we can’t get a bit of inside goss in the next week for interests sake.

Down In the foyer there is a scale model of the proposed redevelopment, it's massive with a capital M.
We stayed over the road at the Tower before it was bought by Westin, was nice.

    Holy $**t. That's outrageous
I hope they've renovated the rooms.
That trip we also stated at Rissonare Tower in Tomamu, apparently that was sold to a Chinese company and they're also now marketing it as super A class with exorbitant rates.
Looks as though we got in just in time.

Rissonare - those "suites" with the sauna and the mountain view from the big 1980's spa.

Yep, amazing. Our sauna broke and I thought oh well that's it for the week. But nope, in typical Japanese service they had two plumbers in the room with an hour and new unit was installed.
