After my dad passed away a few years ago, i was helping mum move out of the family home of 60 years. Under the house we found a sign that neither of us had ever seen.

Given dad was a lifelong perisher skier, we assume its from the mid station, which would have been the triple chair back then. Has anyone got any photos of the mid station from ( I'm guessing) the late 70s in order to verify?

    All help appreciated!!!!!

I wouldn’t have any photos but that’s the right name and from fuzzy memory the right font for it to suit the “style” of the hut.

Here is a pic of Mt Perisher midstation. I don't see any sign of a hut? This is also obviously on the double chair, predating the triple

This is from the excellent book "Highway to Heaven : A history of Perisher and ski resorts along the Kosciuszko road" by Peter Southwell-Keely. An excellent book, which you should check out.

Cheers robbo- yep have that book already. In fact dad has a small article in it! However was actually talking about the current quad chair, which used to be a triple back in the day. I'd imagine the mid station looked a bit different back then, though pics seem to be hard to find

It was a funny little walk-up hut (I don’t remember having anything but hotdogs and Kransky rolls from there), nothing like the current structure with its indoor seating and all, and not really the sort of structure people would have gone out of their way to take photos of.

I remember it and yes it was like the Happy Valley one just a hut for the servers. You sat on logs outside in the snow to drink the coffee or eat. It was near the present site.

Are we talking about the same chairlift?

I thought the OP was referring to what is now the Perisher Quad, but is that photo the Mt Perisher Double?

Just on the side , has anyone ever seen photos of digging out the t-bars in the 1960's? Either digging out or dug out. I saw some a few years back, but cannot find them

When was the current building at mid station built?

I have a vague memory (that's probably wrong) from my first time at Perisher in 1989 that there was a small walk up hut, but the quad was definitely there.

I think its yes to both OP referring to the old triple up to Back Perisher and subsequent poster put up photos of Mt P double which apparently had a mid station at one stage.

I also remember the unload ramp being unforgiving with crowds loitering down the bottom of the ramp .
