This is your last chance to discount 2012 season passes as I think i'am going to ski this Sunday
at Perisher and if I do I will buy their $699 deal and that means more than likely i will stay in
    Perisher next year.

Of course the pass will not work unless oversnow is considered, say three free return trips and the rest at a reduced rate

I hope your marketing team realises that these deals done by Perisher and Thredbo will most likely damage your patronage and you did need to do something

    Cheers

I bought a freedom pass for myself a month ago and then decided on thursday to buy the kids one each. At best we will do a CP day tripper or two just for grins. Broken lifts and bad gromming are just too much to take anymore. We love the Pass - but for the same cost as a week at CP we can do a lot more at PB. And the burgers are better at Eyre cafe than the Koshi cafe!

Tough next couple of years for CP, don't forget, this years pass (2012) guarantees the same price in 2013. that said, I don't know what use a season pass at CP would be? You cant exactly rely on ducking down for a weekend.

I did and I did, for the whole family. it snowed of and on all day yesterday at PB. the pass only owes me
    $590 now

As we included skitube for an extra $60 ( take that NPWS) that means we could go for a weekend to CP if season passes were made affordable say $450, sound cheap maybe but better than nothing hey.

It would seem the rules of skiing in Australia are changing for the better as for to long the skier has been bleeding to much money

    Good thing i'am in disguise

I would however consider buying a pass if cheap enough as I would normally spend $1100 on passes for the year anyway

As u pass through the gates at PB your photo shows on a screen thats being monitered so I will have to ugly up a bit

    HI Tree breaker Bob,
Looks as though a 2012 season pass deal is about to be launched.
It may be worth taking it up as well as perisher's.
Have seen it at is far cheaper then Perisher's.
Keep an eye on CPV website.

A bit confusing on whether you can buy the unlimited oversnow upgrade for 50 dollars and use as a day tripper - minus lunch.

499 for adults - 299 for 13 and under - plus 50 for unlimited oversnow.

They should have done this straight away with PB and Thredbo offer.

If I had limitless cash I'd buy these as well. But we are committed to PB in 2012. Maybe the year after - as a CP discount pass would be good for the school holidays and weekends.

But anyone planning on going to CP in 2012 for 5 days or more should grab these passes while they are on offer. As they are not locked in to any particular dates you can still leave lodge bookings to last minute and go when the snow is best etc. So plenty of upside there compared to those silly packages - which I noticed are no longer listed at all on the CP website.

Figure I'll try and steal an extra week at the lodge next season, so there is 14 days @ $35.64 per day's skiing. Add the unlimited oversnow for $50 and, subject to accomodation being available, I'll try and sneak in an extra 3 day weekend or two.

Re: Season Pass - Will it be the last time together

Yep we jumped on the Thredbo one, as we had a 4 day weekend booked late season anyway, so will be looking to take advantage of that in 2012. edit: or that was a really expensive weekend skiing!!

The smart thing for PB and Thredbo to do next year would be to allow competitor season pass holders to qualify to pre buy for the other resort in the following year, As you would all be aware, buying a cheap season pass this year locked in pricing for the following year (2013) if you pre purchase again in 2012. Even though I have an irrational attachment to Thredbo, I wouldn't mind trying PB and getting to know the mountain more, I might do this if PB said to me at the end of this season gimme your thredbo pass and I'll sell you a perisher one.

I honestly don't see what advantage is to be gained by CP selling these, it's not like you ever think to yourself "oh i'll just duck down there for the weekend" whereas PB or Thredbo is a different story. i think Charlotte P is a different market, and besides, you can't buy a cheap season pass to the other two now? I reackon CP are just giving away money, for no good reason. good for CP punters though [IMG]

    Time will tell?

I couldn't help myself now I'm dual licensed Perisher in the morning, Charlottes in the afternoon

lets hope that CPV doesn't play up on transport availability for the spur of the moment decisions

    HI TBB,
Will be great to see you up there again.
Also interesting point that Nidecker makes in his end paragraph.Have heard discussion's about that very point. And most lodges don't encourage 2-3 nighters so most people will be forced into chalet and stillwell or stay at Jindy.A few regular past season holders will be smiling ear to ear with this deal.

Just seemed like a completely weird marketing decision, but the guys got more money than I do, so he must know stuff [IMG] Anyhoo, still a great thing for the regulars ...
