Nice one Mulgrave - thats a gnarly odd textured beard you are sporting there on the Gondy shot. [IMG]

Some good fun runs there. looks like you were all having a ball Did you get off piste into some deeper stuff?

Thanks for sharing - hope the freshies keep up for you

Very nice day today in the fresh - bit of a false start with a venture up to Suzurikawa (only 2 lifts operating and desperately cold and windy). Shuttled back to Mariuke and then the fun began in earnest. The 'James Bond gondola' (what is the name of that old eggs on a cable device?) was on wind hold but just after lunch it opened and we managed to jag first tracks(ish) down Olympic which we lapped until we needed to beat a retreat back to Sun Valley before the lifts shut - on piste face shots and lots of woot wooting. No-one around this afternoon after the busy weekend.

Sorry no pics - you'll have to imagine what it looked like. I haven't got time for 1000 words ;-)

Do you mean Suzurikawa bus stop, where Yokoteyama and Kumanoyu are located?
There were only 2 lifts open there today?

Lucky ducks, Olympic is great with freshies, a good pitch from the top.
Hoping for the same when I'm there early Feb

This one I called "carnage" as it was a lot softer on the other side of a small road jump than anticipated

Snowing again this morning. By the look of it another 20 to 30cm. What a day it was yesterday. Clear sky's a great day to explor and get our bearings. Trail maps are good but nothing quite like being able to see where you are where you want to get to and how to get there. Another Great dinner last night, bus to Itchinos and walked back to prince west wing then prince shuttle bus back to east wing. Done that twice now and it works a treat.
I have uploaded another video from yesterday but in doing it from my phone I managed to loose the link, technology it's great when it works or you are under 30...... So have a dig on YouTube sure you will find it.

Marco, theres a great little restaurant at street level in the building directly next door to Sunroute. We ate there every night for 4 nights when we were there! Gets busy though and its not very big so good to book if you can. Benno and I are there the day before you so maybe we could book it on Friday for the Saturday night for all of us?

Big day again today. My knees have almost had it. On ACLs knee braces and deep powder "cracker". Had a big digger over at Okishiga on a steep pitch in wast deep pow. Kids are calling me DBR. Terakoya was so cold this afternoon. Off for Indian tonight in inchinose.
We have found two good eating places. Japanese on main road just near buss stop with red lanterns out the front and an Indian up in the centre of town. Both good.
May get another vid up later. Suns just out at the moment but more snow is coming.

Looking forward to the next Video Musgrove especially if your big stack is on it [IMG]

BTW that"Indian Restaurant" is actually a Nepalese curry house by the name of Kamoshika. Check the Nepalise owner and check how fast he moves all around the restaurant like a flash - how does he do it.
It was only on my second time there I realised he was "they" - twin brothers [IMG]

I reccomend the mixed share menu but go easy on the naan - they are HUGE

Don't know if this has been posted before. I never leave home without it as it is handy to jump on the bus to go to the monkeys or into the Tokyu department store in Nakano for supplies

MP you may be able to add it into your excellent executive summary

There's the Post Office ATM at Hasuike.
Monday to Friday: 9:00 - 17:00
Saturday: 9:00 - 12:00. Closed Sunday.

I have a distant memory of an ATM in the shop above the rest centre at Ichinose Diamond but it may not have been international.

Don't know about an ATM but have had a few people asking if one exists? If there is one its well hidden. As benchives said cash is king. My experience in Japan has been that cash is best with many places not taking credit cards. Both the restaurants we found and mentioned above are cash only. All the lunch spots we have found are cash only.
Also found tonight that several of the hotels have food options at night on weekends. Hotel Inchinose has a smorgas board on the weekend that looks very good for Y2.1K each. We are going to try it tomorrow night.

Snowed hard all day yesterday. Snow was quite heavy (surprising) but still lots of fun. We ventured to the monkeys today.

Musgrave, Olyimpic Hotel in Ichinose has a great buffet as well. We just rocked up, no booking and they let us in no problem.
Was about 3500Y from memory and a huge and varied selection including yummy desserts

Ichinose Hotel smorgas board is a winner. A big group of us headed along tonight and had a great feed. 2100 yen each was great value. Payed with credit card no problems. Remember its only Friday Saturday and Sunday nights. Talk of a few other spots also but the logistics of getting back after dinner is a bit to hard with out a car.
Its been snowing again all day today with another 20 to 30 cm fallen in the last 24 hours. In the week we have been here the snow bank on the side of the road at one spot has grown about 1m. I think that is a good indication of snow depth. Its not in part of the road they they use a blower so its fairly accurate.
