Does anyone have good recommendations for guided tours around Shiga Kogen? I’m an experienced snowboarder but probably looking for more side country/tree runs rather than hardcore backcountry terrain. I am a solo traveller and was just hoping to find some good powder stashes with a safe guide. I saw some mixed reviews about epic ski tours. Their combination of cultural activities and guiding on the mountain sounded great until I saw the information about the guests that tragically died in an avalanche on their tour. There were mentions of their lack of training, professionalism and qualifications. Are there any other options in the area with a reputable company? I’d consider Hakuba also but heard Shiga has great terrain, less crowds and that Okushigakogen has designated off piste areas. Any advice is appreciated.

Do you have links to the info about avalanche deaths on their tours? I couldn't find any info on that....

Avoid epic ski adventures. The review are correct, I can vouch for that.

I think Nic was suggesting that you email them ... website may not be an answer to your questions ... easier to start a conversation with them.

    Yep, thanks.
I have sent them a message. Just thought I’d ask in case anyone had extra info or experience with this company.
