I FOUND A STAND!! oh it’s gonna be a wonderful Christmas (stand box told me so)... and the tree is now upright... time to decorate.
Nice fir I cut last weekend. Will last well into January without dropping a needle. Commercial trees are cut 3-4 weeks ahead to allow for distribution time. Typically they're a fire hazard by NYE.
I made a face mask Christmas Angel for my tree! It turned out better than I thought it would, especially when my Radiologist friend gave it a go for work and couldn’t get it to work. Also... when PB saw the news article about the Koala in a Christmas tree he jokingly asked “can we have a koala in our tree too?”. I said “sure”. It took him a while to notice him. I’m happy with the gift tags for this year also!
Finally got our tree up today. I think it’s on its last legs, especially after the late lamented Charlie cat attacked it on numerous occasions last year and shredded some of the branches. No matter .... Christmas lights and baubles disguise that
Looked ok for about 5 minutes, the cat and Mr 1 turned their attention to pulling some of the decorations off
We’ve had a plastic tree for years but this year the local ‘Christmas Shop’ did orders for live trees. I could not get rid of the slight lean due to the angle the main trunk was cut.
If that’s your house, Jasper, I hope you have solar panels otherwise I can imagine the electricity bill . Looks amazing, though. Reminds me of THAT scene in ‘National Lampoons Christmas Vacation’ ..... (I lack the skills to search and embed it).
Yeah that is my house, We have been doing it for many years. Electricity is not a huge deal because they all run on 12V adapters. We find it’s not too bad
I do my bit for the Mornington Peninsula ecology and cut down a roadside Pinus radiata sapling each year. Much prefer an open Charlie Brown style tree to the bushy 'Aussie style' ones from the Xmas tree farms.
