So from the looks of things this morning, the trough is pushing from the NE and moving faster than it was yesterday. The storms that do form should cover more ground today. Central VIC looks about ready to start firing.

    Global storming?
Upper Blue Mountains, July 2011 we had a destructive 120 kph windstorm, last October we had a record breaking snow storm, this January a record heat wave and today it seems we're going to smash the daily rainfall record (now 117 mm in 12 hours)

Next few days in the SE could be wet. East coast is ridiculous at the moment, I heard Smitty took a canoe to work today.

Looks good. Today looks too windy and not really conducive to storms, in Melbourne at least. SA getting a bit of love today though.

Yeh, seabreeze isn't going to to make it easy for storms in Melbourne today. Although it's very humid.

Storms firing from Mildura down to the range, but not far enough East to affect us here in Melbourne. The seabreeze might work in our favour due to the humidity and the fact the water temp in the bays is so high at the moment. I recorded 23C in most areas yesterday, up to 25C on the flats.

I'm sick of this summer. Weeks on end of very hot and dry, followed by weeks on end of hot and humid.
    Need more scenes like this:

Streaking in from the NW. I didnt think there was enough pump in this to get to us today, but you might be right we might be in with a show. With the current weather conditions I expect these to continue into the night.

shrek: I've never seen it like it, as i posted in the BC thread police rescue are out.. I don't expect there is any easy way off the national pass other than rocket point and the stairs up were a cascade. Valley of the waters would subside quickly but I bet its still interesting in places.
