    Didn't make the long lunch, which was a shame, but did enjoy a weekend of food and wine by the campfire at Currango.

    Had a beautiful slow cooked cattlemans cut, with a blue cheese butter on a bed of garlic mash, washed down with an 06 Geoff Merrell Shiraz.

    From what I hear you need to do some exercise after waiting in the queues at Perisher for hours and doing the odd slide down the hill

    Lmao, a picture of Guthega dam in mid winter? Really! There's more natural snow in the overflow in that picture than currently on front valley!

    P.s Last time I checked Guthega dam doesn't flow into Perisher

    We have one, our own, not so private chat room! The funny thing is, the class is pretty much an hour of the same banter. Anything to get our minds off the pain!

    Some of the exercises seemed basic in the walk through but man did they hurt 20 minutes in.

    No, just lots more weights during the workout, i had to hold a kettle bell during the squat holds and lunges.

    My fitness in Canberra, getting ready for ski season, consisted of very high tech, very advance training.

    Riding a bicycle to work, often into horrible headwinds... and walking and descending hills in the burbs.

    Simples. Cheap. :D

    Nothing wrong with that, i know DSNS rides most days, I do a few sessions a week climbing and at the gym plus play a bit of football.

    However whilst all are great for for general fitness they are not as specific to skiing as we think.

    Skiing is very eccentric in muscle loading where as cycling and lifting weights are concentric I.e we are loading the muscle the other way.

    We do a lot of eccentric lactic holds, coupled with some aerobic work. We also do a lot of balance work and strength under balance I.e doing squats whilst balancing on a bosu ball.

    Let's face it anything is better than doing nothing. But it is fun doing a group class even if I have to share it with a redneck like DSNS.

    Mountainbiking uses very similar muscles to skiing. Both hurt my knee heaps too :(

    Cycling does have some eccentric especially downhill mtn biking when you stand up on the pegs.
