Backcountry to the top of mt. SHERKHOTA 3695 meters.
On April 27, 2020, Anatolii Mykhailiuta and Oleg Gritskevich started from Gudauri, an altitude of 1805 meters. Backcountry was planned for three days and two nights. In the first 7 hours of the journey, 6.2 kilometers were passed and with a climb of 1392 meters. We start the first night at an altitude of 3197 meters above sea level. The next morning, we acclimatize and ride the nearby snow peaks. We make several ski slopes and relax. On the morning of the next day, we leave in the direction of mt. SHERKHOTA. After 5 hours and 7 kilometers of skiing with a climb of 700 meters, we are at the top of mt. SHERKHOTA!
We enjoy the beauties of Georgia, take pictures, and prepare for the descent to Gudauri. An unusually soft snow awaits us on the ski slope. By 9 p.m. we were already at home.

    Unique impressions and experience gained!

I've always wanted to climb or ski in the Caucuses. After seeing this video I want even more. But Georgian resorts like Gudauri are a long way from the rest of Europe.
