Only that I've noticed the peak train frequency this year is every 25 minutes instead of 20 minutes, which suggests more time for loading and unloading...... and of course less capacity overall (fewer departures).

If anything, they should be running it MORE frequently (eg every 15 minutes) to shift the crowds and ensure people aren’t queued up at the stations. Heaven knows how they will manage Blue Cow departures when PV quad goes on wind hold .... I’ll be hiking back up the Blue Cow home trail, personally.

Someone else said a few weeks back that they can't run faster than 20 mins per train due to the single line.

On the PV wind hold, they need a T to the top of interceptor from PV.

I would love to say I will be the last, but I know I'm dreaming.

New Mt P 6 pack, move Mt P triple to Telemark, move Telemark T to PV-interceptor, Mt P double to bottom of Ridge to Top of Mt Piper.

But all this is off topic

It wouldn’t cope with the demand.

    You don't need a T really, it's a short easy hike.

That's right, it takes near enough 40 minutes for a round trip Bullocks to Perisher and back to Bullocks, including loading time, and the trains pass on the loop just before the tunnel, hence the normal 20 minute frequency.

The only logical reason I can think of for the move from 20 minute frequencies to 25 minutes frequencies would be if they were fully sanitising the trains between each trip. If you are doing that you need at least a couple minutes for the cleaners to wipe down everything and given the trains have a quick turnaround on a 20 minute frequency, maybe they need the extra time?

Replace it with a bullet train, round trip 4.5mins. Simples.

SkiTube tickets are now on sale, but I cant for the life of me find how to get the Epic Pass discount. Does anyone here know how one can access the discount?

It may be, that because Epic reservations haven't opened yet (23rd June), that they won't let you book Epic ski tube.

Is there a ski tube discount for Epic Pass holders. Have not seen that anywhere ? Thought it was add ons only per day you ski for 2020.

For anyone staying in Jindy, a consecutive day pass is still the go, but if you're an Epic Pass holder staying on the snow, it makes the skitube far more viable.

I understand the ticket sales website is only doing Epic pass holder bookings for the first few days of the season, due to very high demand. Keep watching Perisher website, or these pages for updates.

Just thinking out aloud but wouldn't it be nice if Vail could get onto the Fed/NSW govn and get one of those lovely tunnel boaring machines either from Snowy 2.0, or the F3/M1 missing link once it's complete and duplicate the skitube up to perisher and blue cow.
Double capacity, better service, would be nice. Gets cars off the road, lots of positives. Would need to fix the Carpark as well.

I'm booked into Charlotte Pass for the first week of August.
I tried to book two open return ski tube tickets for Sunday 2nd August.
I can't select that day on the booking site calendar as it's grayed out?

    1. Does this mean they're all booked out?
    2. So I've got to monitor the site 24/7 until it's not greyed out and book then?
    3. Make alternative arrangements to get in and out of Perisher?

The tickets for those dates have not been released for sale yet.

Please review details on the Perisher website.

24/32 = 75% chance, and if you ignore social distancing and push, you could increase that chance.

Add to that prior knowledge of where you can sit and that there are seating patterns to adhere to and you in the box seat for that 20 min journey :woohoo:

I can only imagine that on a busy day you'll just have to queue at the station because they will cap the numbers.

That's probably part of what that extra 5 minutes in the turnaround time on each trip is for.

If there are no ticket sales on the day and you have to book your train time as well then that should mean there shouldn’t be too much waiting time.

This was taken by staff and they had been told staff and people with accommodation only on the train. Not sure if this has changed. But most of the staff actually drove up because this season Perisher cannot stop them from driving up.

Yep. Night Stalker....This is correct. Just the date at this stage although I am still looking for when they allow my crew to purchase the ski tube add ons for the 2nd week of school holidays for our already purchased tickets. Suppose that will be closer to time?

Yes. A lovely complicated system where the colour of the dot equates to whether you are a member of a group (one colour) or not. There are then rules about who can sit/stand where and with whom based upon the colours :D

If solo, sit/stand on a blue dot.

If you live with both people sitting on the blue dot seats, you can sit on a yellow dot.

If you live with someone standing on a blue dot, you can stand on the nearest black dot.
