Depends. Do you like word salad?

FWIW, this thread had me going back and watching "Hot Dog... the Movie" again the other night. The terminology! And the ballet technique!

I like "smear turn".... That's where you fall sideways, but it's so steep that you don't fall down all the way, and just keep going

It's one of those movies that will endure, and for good reason. It's not just a "skiing movie". It captures so much of what is real (good and bad), fun and irreverent about humanity without the moral lecturing.

I have been following the Harb online teaching method after starting with Lito Tejada flores breakthrough on the new skis book and it is improving my skiing heaps but if you go down this path you need to be very selective on selecting an instructor that knows his methods. You can read my thread!!! He teaches narrow stance, to flex (bend legs) to change your edges and the phantom move. Do a search to understand this move. Most instructors I think teach a different style and want you to have wide stance, and rise to change edges. Good luck, its a bit of minefield to get lessons if you try to learn Harbs methods. His ski camps book out in a hour or so for one year in advance.

    Did anyone answer his question?

I am no expert but to me it seems you got the ski on edge early on the turn and let the edge take you to the fall line which is the line straight down the slope. If you do this you accelerate. If you do the usual sliding turn you do not get this feeling of acceleration. Its real different feeling. You could be feeling the rebound from the ski also. Stiffer skis make this easier to feel.

Point taken. I did skim the posts but did not read each one. Off topic, but try to keep up with the Tesla invester thread. Over 4000 posts this year. Interesting some ski resorts are going green power too.
