I went for a drive up to Kiandra today due to the recent snowfalls, original plan was to do the Tantangara summit but snow down low and north west facing has not held up too well. Decided to give the hill opposite the court house a go, considering there is also somewhere safe to park off the road. Snow was really wet and heavy, not great skiing but neither was Perisher yesterday haha. The fires have really cleaned up the deadfall but there really isn’t much in the way of re growth in this section of the park. Also found what looks to be old ski lift remains? Anyway was a decent little outing none the less.

Did you ski near where the old ski run was before selwyn moved to its current location.
I'm not actually sure where all the original lifts were located, but I have read there was one opposite the old court house which is where these photos were taken. Other members of this forum could probably give more insight?

Here are a couple more photo’s from today’s little excursion. Started from the now ruins of Pattison’s hut? and along the table top mountain trail. I would have liked to make it selwyn just to have a look at the works (and to have a run down race course ;)) but the gf didn’t think she would make it. Maybe next time. I don’t blame her, we’re on frame bindings and heavy skis.

Came across some snow shoe tracks and snowmobile tracks, which I’m guessing are parks? Or someone is riding them illegally up there? And was overtaken by a fellow heading out to tabletop mountain for the night. So still some people out and about enjoying the cover up there atm.

Just an update on the snow cover up there today. Getting thin and patchy down low. Still decent cover higher up and towards selwyn. Looks like a few people have toured up to selwyn, tracks along road side and past the gates which currently block entry to the resort.

>>Getting thin and patchy down low.

22mm of rain forecast to fall on Wednesday will knock that around a bit. :(
Unless it snows again later this month or a decent amount in September, I think today was my last little play up there.
