Hello fellas, Any idea how will the snow conditions be like during school holidays? We have booked accommodations for 27/9 - 5/10. Most of my friends are snowboard beginners trying to link S turns and improving their basic skills. I’m the only one that can do green and blue runs. I suppose V8 should be good right? Will that be any other runs open other then V8? BC? After checking on the wether forecast, it looks like there will be no further snow falls this Sep. But fingers crossed, hopefully we can have some end of season boarding. cheers!
At this stage the options will likely be pretty limited. V8 and maybe Goats Gully could be still open and suitable? Perhaps a bus to Eyre if we are lucky???
thank you for all the replies. We went to Thredbo and Perisher end of Sep last year. Friday flat was very bad but V8 looked ok. I suppose just gonna have some fun with the kids . Have being snowboarding for 15 days already this season, can't complain.
If there is some magical dump though, I'd expect the number of lifts running would still be pretty minimal because most of the punters will have given up by then.
Just because I was moving my photos (and everything else) to a new computer today, I happened to look back at "this day in the past" (specifically 22-Sep-2017), when my twins and I had a quick ski trip. This is an "alternate reality" version of what 22-Sep conditions can/could be in a less screwed-up year than 2020 has been; Smiggins shown from the carpark (late morning) and from the top of the Duplex looking down (last thing in the afternoon):
It is shit in Victoria been raining on +_ off for about 2 weeks virtually no base anywhere except the usual suspects ie Nelse ,Spion Kopje ,top of McKay ,prolly Cairn Gully so we would need a special kind of magic at this stage . The previous few seasons were pretty gooood. NSW snowies would be OK after this dump if we were allowed in .
Wow, amazing how differently this week started off compared to what we had all been expecting not that long ago.
