So does anyone know what the current snow depth is or are we all waiting for the Falls Creek website to update?

Hard to tell, but there are some indicators to look at.

The FC Express cam runs all night and you can see a bit. The steps have a bit of snow but are not completely covered. Earlier in the day there was better cover shown on the cams up high so you can be pretty sure there is more than this up top, indeed all over the Sun valley runs that finish much higher than that chair starts.

Look at the 24 hour graph on weatherzone. You can see where precipitation fell when the temperature was sub-zero. Rule of thumb says 1 mm of liquid precipitation equals 1 cm snow. This can be wildly inaccurate (especially if it is so windy that the weather station doesn't catch the snow). However it's often the best info we can get, especially at night our if the cams are iced up. This would suggest that only 3cm has fallen. I reckon that the cams today suggested more than that.

It's still raining in the valley and it's sub zero up top do the snow should keep coming overnight. Look at the FC Express cam in the morning to get an idea. The towers can looks straight up main street so that gives you an idea of how close that is to opening.

Think it's been upped to 36cm with it still coming down. Now just stick around until mid-July please!

If the snow continues today I would say they would have enough to open Wombats, Towers, Drovers and Mousetrap tomorrow or Thursday.

Scotts, Ruined castle and Lakeside by the weekend could be a real possibility if snow making continues and the second system delivers on Friday.

Summit, hard to call! Need a good meter.

Hopefully they have enough resources (staff) on call to fulfill everything.

And just in time for school holidays too...phewff!

Yes that'd be great if it survived until the 13th but it looks like more is on the way! :D

Report of 53cm according to Facebook. And a hint that lifts will be open tomorrow.
