Last few days have been very hard packed on the groomed runs. eventually this softens and you can easily carve in there. The man made areas have an almost 'sandy' quality when this happens.

Off piste has an icy crust which softens to mashed potato consistency by some point in the afternoon. Sometimes there is a 'goldilocks moment' when its soft enough to turn in but firm enough not to suck you down.

Basically it went from mid winter powder with cold temps around end August (after a sub par until then season snowfall wise) and we sorta skipped early spring conditions and went straight to late spring. Unfortunately becoming more and more common, with a switch getting flicked earlier than it used to, to allow those glorious early spring conditions that used to be more common in Australia. Double digits already today and tomorrow at Perisher.

It was soft from the get go this morning. Pick any part of the hill. Front Valley was very, very soft at starters.

Mt P easy turns first up. By 10:00 am it was tracked out. Towers was gone by that time.

10:30 it was ski off piste anywhere. No ice traps.

    11:00 slow most everywhere.

Typical Spring skiing. The T Bar tracks that were ice a few days back were very soft. The areas that have been notorious for ice this season to date were soft. Different hill now.

    It Spring after all!

Had a private lesson today. Instructor asked if Phantom worked. He spent large parts of the lesson catching up and muttering about getting his skis waxed.

And what did you tell him? Phantom during late season is unmatched when it comes to recreational skis based on my experience with both Version 1.0 and 2.0 and home application.
