With less than 50 days until the opening of the Aussie ski season snow lovers across the country have started fantasizing about fresh falling snow, deep powder turns and après ski socialising.

The Snow Travel Expos in Melbourne (May 19) and Sydney (May 26) are the perfect way for these snow-addicted folks to catch up, check out the latest winter toys and meet people from iconic ski destinations around the world.

The Snow Travel Expo brings together an inspiring collection of 50 of the world's top ski resorts under one roof and offers snow enthusiasts the opportunity to plot their next winter adventure or even win a dream winter escape to California or Chile.

"The Expo is a high-energy and fun day. It's a gathering of the tribe and chance for us to indulge our snow passions," explains event director and self-confessed snow addict Phil Osborn. "It's like a candy store for snow lovers. You can talk to experts from all the best mountains and resorts from Japan, Canada, USA, NZ, Korea, Europe, South America, Kashmir and our local Australian resorts and get great insider tips to help plan your ideal snow holiday."

Some fast facts from Snow Travel Expo visitors:
-- They take 3.3 snow trips each year and spend 2 weeks in the snow.
-- There is gender equality in the snow – equal numbers of men and women attend the Expo and plan snow holidays.
-- Snow also brings together Gen Ys and Baby Boomers; under 30s and over 50s are the biggest attendees.

A lively schedule of entertainment at the Expo includes the Live City Rail Jam, fun for kids in the Burton Riglet Park and jumping castle, skiwear fashion parades and inspiring presentations on the big screen to get everyone fired up and ready to hit the slopes.

Entry to the Snow Travel Expo is free with a gold coin donation to Disabled Winter Sports.
