The Fan guns in the bowl started up around 9pm tonight. Conditions ar clear and still, so the snow makers are in for a big one tonight. Looks like the first real serious night we have had this season and only the third time the Fan guns have fired a shot in anger. I will update in the morning when I get my lazy hungover butt out of bed.

probably better to turn them off and save the water cos thats what its going to turn back to next week when the rain and warm temps hit.

The water will just run back into the lake and get recycled, so no big deal.
Just heard that they are running at full load (every gun that is operational is working). Fan guns on Drovers, Nastar, Towers, Scotts and Castle are all going flat out.

    skiers' lullaby, great news joe.

what's the latest guesstimate on getting drovers (or any other blue lift) going to spread the holiday load a bit?

Dropped below minus 1.5 at about 4PM & still dropping..... (-2.3 now).

They'll be running flat out by now I'd say.

    thanks joe.

i did go up today. as i expected, main st was crazy until about 11:30. nice snow, too many people skiing too fast in close proximity. queue was a pain at in the morning too. but otherwise conditions on main st were great. adjoining runs made interesting, if rather solid, variations.

Once the fans are running and with the full capacity of 220 litres per second of water flowing through the system the base will grow very quickly, a few days of over 20,000 cubic metres will make a significant improvement, once Drovers and Towers are really topped up they can pile it onto scotts and Ruined.

Apart from the bowl, every gun on the hill ran all day. Right now the bowl guns are firing too. It has been a massive couple of nights for the snowmaking crew. The guns have been going full blast for 2 days.
