    Hey @Spiersy - Nice

From the shadows looks like you are just rocking a phone - what are you using to do the 360? I'm only rocking a crappy Iphone 4 (so limited to Pano's) so was assuming the 360 stuff is an upgraded capability of newer hardware? Or you capturing source images/data and creating the 360 in software?

Was just interested in the process (even physically what you are doing with the cam etc.).

Also what's the process to tag/upload it to Google maps? If you are logged into Google does it just let you add image for a location?

Sweet work @Spiersy , nice how your feet stay still while you can spin the view around. A bit spookey really.

Hey, it's pretty easy to do this with a decent phone these days:
    1. Get the Google street view app.
    2. Link it to your google/gmail account
    3. Find a scenic spot that is as far as possible (>5m) from long/complicated things such as roofs, boardwalks, lookout railings, trees, etc
    4. Tap the camera icon to record a photoshpere
    5. Imagine the phone is mounted on a tripod (it helps to find a point on the ground that you will hold the phone over)
    6. Take the first image by hunting down the orange dots
    7. Hunt down the orange dots BY MOVING YOURSELF AROUND THE PHONE AS IF IT WERE MOUNTED ON A TRIPOD
    8. Once you have taken all your photos, tap the green tick, wait for the render, check results (repeat if necessary), upload to Google maps, assign it to a place name
    9. The link can be shared once it is public in Google maps or via your phones streetview app

I have a 1.5 year old Sony phone and it works well about half the time

Seeing as you are all interested here are some more I have taken over the last year:
    Kangaroo island: https://goo.gl/maps/an52BJ1pLyQ2 https://goo.gl/maps/7fP8ohLZFkT2

Ahhhhh..........well there you go - learnt something

Thanks @Spiersy - Appreciate you taking the time to give a detailed response. I even have the Google Street View app on my phone as ages ago I had a mess around with Cardboard VR and Street View (which whilst cool and all with my crappy phone 5 mins was enough) but hadn't even realised that they had incorporated 360 images into the app. Now that I know the functionality is there I will have a play at some stage - maybe with the other half's phone which is a bit better than mine.

You have a few great ones in there - the Feathertop one is  Kind of wishing I knew about this before last snow trip as I would have taken a few for sure and have done a couple of domestic trips in the last 6 months that also would have warranted a couple. Oh well, next time :D
