Why are FC promoting a pic of Drovers run on their FB today when the chair isn't even running. It looks nice and un-crowded...since the run is closed!!

You really need to get to know Falls Creek. The photo shows the top of the run which does not need Drovers Dream chair running to be accessed. It is actually a photo of Panorama run which forms the start of the access to Wombats Ramble (turn left at Big Red's mid left side of photo to continue down WR)...all well and truly open. We should start a thread 'Infact's Spin on the Spin'.

i find the drovers cam to be one of the most useful (now that our beloved slalom st carpark cam is no more). it shows visibility at the top, and you can get a bit of an idea of cover and condition. the featured shot tells you that it is a lovely day but also that while this snowmaking run has good cover at this point, there is sfa natural snow (look across the dam) and the groom is less than perfect, probably because snow was too soft.

and like hully said, this is effectively the top of wombats ramble (and right next to main street which is also open)

Some 'iconics' now making their way into the mountain newspapers with the latest edition of MH-FC News: Wombats Ramble again iconic, plus iconic Winterhaven, and Hotham also in on the act with two iconic walking trails headlined under 'iconic walks over the summer'. Classic!

I note the very special (iconic) price for a day ticket - $59 - up from $49 last weekend. Must be all the extra terrain they have opened?

(I don't really care, as I have a season's pass, but I think $59 is pretty rude. I would not be paying it todday.)

It's not just Falls that does this- just watch the weather report on the nightly news or one of the morning shows- they show footage that must be from the peak of last season!! The other morning they showed blizzard conditions and when I went on and looked at the live cams there was a light dusting of snow.

I have noticed Buller is now getting very close to par with Falls Creek in terms of spin. FC havn't been too bad at all this year...so far.

I notice that falls is promoting the epic, or is it iconic, day ticket price of $79... making it sound like a great deal. No more lifts since qb weekend, but an increase of $30 per day

    Re: SpinWatch 2011

not saying it's worth $79 but it looks like nastar run is up and going, and broadway home trail/village roads. so there is a bit of an increase in open runs. drovers is expected to run on saturday as well

    Re: SpinWatch 2011

My understanding is that opening Drovers Dog will cost another $27. The announcement seems to suggest that the "special" price of $79 was only valid for today. From saturday, it goes up to the full $106.

I think Perisher is taking the cake for spin in the last few weeks. Today they claimed 3m powder stashes in the trees [IMG]

They have indeed. They have now realized that spin is shallow.
