Just found out rhythm don't rent splitboards anymore (unless you're doing one of their tours) which has thrown me off. Was taking the son down for some touring and promised he wouldn't have to snow shoe this time.
I see ESS rent, anywhere other options? Their opening hours are a bit hard to work around.

I think Thredbo does, I asked in another thread. Don’t think it has to be linked to a tour but I’ve not actually tried it yet

I was skeptical but I rang them up they confirmed they might have one floating around but it's not in a useable condition anymore and he couldn't see it with the other rental stuff so probably gone from their fleet. How random to have a single splitboard!

    They don't rent splitboards sadly.

Just rounding this out if anyone is searching in the future. ESS looks to be the only place that rents them and has a decent sized fleet. Bit pricey but so is anything to do with splitboards. $210 for 2 days including poles skins and crampons, $50 per extra day.
They put lots of effort into setting it up well for his boots, demonstrating all the transitions and even gave us a little tin of rub on wax to keep for the spring snow to and loaned a pocket tool when I said we didn't have one. Only thing that let it down was the poles were way too short (125cm max height for ~6ft tall kid) and the skins would barely stick on the edges kept curling up and they'd slip sideways. I'd say well its wet snow but my old skins on my skis had no trouble for the 4 days I was out.
Overall since there's no other option- not bad :)
