Yes , the difference in the water temps between saturday and sunday was noticeable.
Was noticebly more Salty on staurday also.
It feels to be hovering between that 16 deg "cold" to 18 ish "cool "
Northerly winds all last week induced the upwelling , then a day of Southerly on saturday was enough to ease the transport (even tho the S winds themselves where really chilling).

most regulars here will be understanding but for any others this helps explain why the water can be so cold in the summer months.

For many years I wondered why my dad chose Dorrigo to stay at overnight on our way from Syd to the SE Qld back in the day?
Think he preferred the New England Hwy to the Pacific but still wanted to show mum the big banana? LOL
After a coupla years the stop over changed to Tenterfield and the biggest T bones imaginable!!!!!!
Our mum made (on the sewing machine), bags that she tied over the front bench seat and hung over for us to stack with stuff to keep us occupied for 10 hours!!!!

Cold and dry... little surface bend ove rthe alps may do something.

In other news . AXS-R is cooking up quite a nice little tasman low for the next couple of days. Its elongating the shape which should train track some decent moisture.

Plenty of broken cloud West of the GDR, where I think the greatest threat will be - through mid-latitude Victoria.
Fantastic convergence in the lower level. #battleofthethermals

Although still building by late arvo, I am thinking Sydney and the Illawarra will see the scraps as she moves East.
Cloud tops over Western Vic/SE-NSW are already bubbling into the upper levels I think after midday is game time through Central and Nor-Eastern Vic.

Looking out at the sky it seems fertile enough to support a storm .
Moving fwd to tomorrow and friday. I think the BOM are undercooking it a bit for Illawarra and Sydney.

Radar starting to light up over the Monaro now
I can see it coming up from Victoria and over Grosses Plains. Looks dark and wet but has not really hit Moonbah. A bit of light rain and (current) thunder thus far. Paddocks are looking skywards!!!
