Dead still outside now (Elwood) not a breath of wind.
    What a strange day.
Nothing pushing those storms, super slow moving so will juice out before they get anywhere near metro.
    Nightfall will kill them also.
Hope for something on the wrap around tomorrow

A few small cells popping up over the metro area. We just had a rumble here in Canterbury.

Copped that driving to work along beach road also.
Wasn't heavy but enough to have the wipers on consistent.
Garden around the site is looking much healthier than it was 2 days ago.

Poor little boat about to get inhaled... or sunk.

Pic from a friend's whale watching boat - might have even been the one above...

I don't know why everyone is so surprised that it's raining. From the model run on the 1st October (which picked up the +ve IOD moving to a very dry October)

Even though the IOD is +ve, SST's in the Indian Ocean (and areas of the Southern Ocean) are still very warm.

I'm liking the Vic BOM's social media feed, they've really ramped it up.

BOM Victoria ‏@BOM_Vic 4m4 minutes ago

Light rain moving east across southern #Victoria. Falls of less than 2mm most places. Mainly dry in the north.

    Is the same happening elsewhere?

It is nice to see some meaningful 2-way interaction on their social feeds.

Bit of light rain for a while down on St Kilda road, enough to make the plants happy. Looking out the window now it seems to have subsided for the moment.

Temperature record at famous Alpine peak
Geneva (AFP) Nov 10, 2015 - The towering Jungfrau mountain in the Swiss Alps on Tuesday saw the mercury hit an all-time high for the month of November of 7.2 degrees Celsius (45 degrees Fahrenheit), meteorologists said.

The balmy temperature was measured at a weather station situated at an altitude of 3,580 metres (11,745 feet) on the mountain around midday, Meteonews said in a statement.

That easily beat the previous temperature record at the station of 4.7 degrees Celsius, measured in 1992.

Jungfrau, whose highest peak stretches up to 4,158 metres, figures among the tallest mountains in the Swiss Alps and is one of Switzerland's top tourist destinations.

Only slightly below the weather station, at an altitude of 3,454 metres, it boasts the highest-altitude railway station in Europe, with a view onto the mighty Aletsch -- the largest glacier in the Alps.

Temperatures have also been unusually high at lower altitudes in Switzerland.
Over the weekend, several parts of the country raked in heat records for this time of year, with some eastern areas seeing the mercury pass 20 degrees Celsius.
