So um..... el nino?

More again Tuesday next week.
where's our lov'n
As long as its OK for Temora , friday week on.
Looks ok at mo...
Fog and drizzle outside, heater and coffee inside.
CAPE ~1600 really isnt that much, but the 2500 is getting up there. I'm waiting for this mornings sounding to come out to see actually how much energy is available, but I have a feeling it'll be more to the East of Melbourne/central areas. Having a look at the sat pic though, it looks a bit weird.
STW starting early today.
I have my doubts it will really hit Melbourne, it might just struggle to make it far enough south.
Agree, I reckon F all for Melb and burbs - but very happy to be very wrong
Will hit hard around the border on the coast Imo
But this is just from sat pics
To much over-cast and doesn't have "that feel".
Also happy to be proven wrong.
Weather coming my way, again.
Just as we say that, WZ radar suggesting there is a bit of something building around Ballarat with a few flangs that is heading SE towards Melbourne. Might be interesting to use this to see if Mt Macedon will spoil the party as usual from suburban Melbs later today.
Have been getting smashed past 24hr in Ovens Valley
We're getting a bit of W/SW here in the city, unless that dies off, I think it will mostly miss us.
Might be a chance, moving pretty quickly

#Sydney looking at more potentially damaging thunderstorms http://www.smh.com.au/environment/weather/sydney-weather-thunderstorms-likely-to-end-working-week-20151111-gkwu6o.html…
You got an apx ETA on that forecast for the Gong. Don't really want Awesome getting soaked on way to station after school.
This mornings' Wagga sounding:
Plenty of CAPE there and not much effort required to make it happen.
Dat sheer around Central Vic and the NSW/VIC border. Should be some decent cells kick off east of Wagga once the trough moves through. 2pm? 3pm?
At pub in Carnegie (don't ask)
The vibe is good and raining
Boom shakka lakka here we go.
Just nicked down to grab a coffee
the cell to the north of me here as on the STW is looking nice and large. Would think it'll drop its bundle once it hits the hills above the valley.
There's some good cumulonimbus developing out to the east, and what appears to be another cell to the south of me here.
Nice and warm out there too.
not much action in Kyneton so far...warm gentle breeze not much threatening cloud forming at all.
Yeah it's too far East for Kyneton, and Melbourne metro.
Not going to happen in the Metro area as I suspected.
Pissing down in Dubbo atm. Not much flashing or banging. Just heavy rain.
The TTS rain gauge at 199mm (inc since 9am) has blasted through the Nov mean of 146mm - with 331mm the highest Nov in 2011. Highest monthly ever recorded for TTS was March 2012 at 483mm.
PV is showing a little less in the gauge but has also bested (inc since 9am) the monthly mean of 138mm. According to BOM 292mm was the highest PV Nov monthly in 1994 - and the overall highest monthly was not in the La Nina of early 2012 - but 1981 with 699mm in August!
Wow, forecast for Katoomba this Thursday & Friday is 32 C!!
10 C at the moment
Friday arvo drive up to the mountains.
Badja Mtn approach looked ominous .
And it was , came very close to pulling over but crawled along following the tyre tracks and side of the road.
Looking just a bit toasty for Vic and SA this week. Mildura might get to 43 degC on Thursday according to the ensemble forecast. Much milder along the coast though.
Will see TFB's Tuesday-Thursday me thinks
Slight chance Thursday,
Better chance Friday
Looks HOT for friday...
If only I didn't have to work!
Looks a bit more friendly in the south on today's runs.
No joy for NSW coastal though.
That's gonna sting, no Friday arvo hills ride this week. Bike stays at home. Top of 39 here in Penrith
Seven Hills on Friday..Woohoo... Not.
A balmy 20 degrees at 8am here in Canberra.. looks like a warm one today
Still hot here in Helensburgh very low RH
Illawarra having a rare few days of summer. All good until Friday. Then back to the usual wash out by the weekend. El Nino is peaking - maybe one more wind burst depending on that little tropical depression off the Philippines. At least the oceans hot spot of the SE is hanging in there. Must be 3+ years since first it appeared and stayed put.
Gonna be a hot one in Canberra tomorrow too!
Looks hot western suburbs Sydney
Cool change working it's way up the bay here in Melbourne. Looks we'll be spared anything too severe down here.
BOM Victoria @BOM_Vic 5m5 minutes ago
30C and humid in #Melbourne. But the cool change is on the way! http://www.bom.gov.au/australia/meteye/… #melbweather
